So people should be happy that they paid for unfinished races, in a subscription based game that have cash shop with unique items. That's a disaster for triple A MMO, but community will defend everything that SE do, because, you know, people starving in Africa, so you shouldn't complain.
1 hair per expansion, please look forward to it.

They knew the races were not finished and were told it would take awhile to get things added if they ever did. Now every patch we have people acting surprised that exactly that is happening. Should they be happy? No, but they should also realize that they were warned this would happen and made the choice anyway.

Oh, I don't think anyone is surprised. Me, I'm disappointed and unhappy. Definitely not surprised.

I dont see any information on store about this where you can buy the game. Its listed >New playable race. I dont see anything about its being unfinished, any information about them not being able to wear headgear or hairstyles that you are limited to. For new player it will be very strange. And for those who played game already, when they showed us word "LIMITED" it was about not only a gender, but other features as well? 1/4 of expansion cycle is already at the end and nothing changed, modders showed us already that making new hair works on Vieras is not a rocket science and you dont need a big team to make it happen. Being vocal about problems is always good thing, especially when you pay for product.

It's not a right to have them, but they weren't exactly a gift either. Square Enix is a company, a business, and Viera and Hrothgar are a product. An unfinished limited product.

I'm happy they exist, but I'm not happy that they're in a state where I can't even enjoy them because of how much I lose by switching to one. I'm not gonna be "grateful" for that. And I have zero obligation to be.

YoshiP made it clear what to expect with the Viera and the Hrothgar, he explained why they did what they did, the difficulty behind designing them (Mostly the Hrothgars Unique Non-human head/Face) and that additions were coming to them.
He never announced WHEN it was happening, just that it was happening.

And well, there are some that unhappy with he current state, understandable in some degree. And then there are people who ARE happy that they even have the Option to play these races despite some limitations.
I know many hate "Early-Access" models, but many others don't mind it and are willing to wait.
I love my Hrothgar ALT and am willing to wait for these new Unique Hairstyles. Im just happy that there is Finally a Playable Beast Race. Being a Cat-Person helps to. lol

FYI...the Races Aren't "Unfinished"
They just have limited options. They were Designed with Female Viera only, and Male Hrothgar Only. WILL they develop the "Missing Genders"? Maybe, they didnt say No, and they Didnt Say Yes. The 2 Races were designed EXACTLY the way they were intended.
Now, you can argue the only thing "Unfinished" about the 2 races, is the Inability to Visibly wear alot of Headgear.
The Viera have more options then the Hrothgar because they have Humanoid Faces. While for the Hrothgar, alot of gear would need to be COMPLETELY redesigned to fit them. This might be something they have planned, but you gotta understand how much time that would take.

He also said Hrothgar would have a wolf face. :T

All this shows that you don't do any research before buying something. All the info has been out for quite awhile and isn't hard to find.

I think the worst part here is that Yoshi P on multiple occasions stated Viera wouldnt be like what we thought and ended up being last Minute with Hrothgar. This is what happenes when the fan base wants something that isn't planed in a game with such a tight schedule.

Now for a minute think about the uproar from the larger playerbase if they deviate and say, push relics back for Viera and Hrothgar cosmetics, after around 7 years of Gameplay over Cosmetics being the philosophy hes used for everything. You can say you're paying for the game on a monthly sub yes, but if the lack of cosmetics is so much that it ruins the game play experience overall, Then speak with your wallet, stop playing until its there, simple.

Yoshi P, let alone SE as a whole, will not risk displeasing the larger player base for the sake of the few, the few who have been told there that are multiple other things that will take priority over cosmetics, and he will update that specific situation when he can.

As per the teams ability to actually seperate time and effort to do any of this. The team isn't some massive team with several divisions dedicated to specific aspects of the game, and even if they were the money FFXIV makes literally goes into other IPs for SE, this again falls into the situation of speak with your wallet if the lack of hair is that much of an issue for you.

The odds of them being able to slap a random hair style on a viera of hrothgar head with no issues is slim to none. When doing all this stuff for cosmetics and hair, you need to make sure the models fit together. You have to make sure textures arent stretching and make sure there isn't any extreme clipping that will make your game freak out and crash when you use it. So in the case of not having to make the hair from scratch, they have to make sure there arent any physics engine issues, make sure it fits properly, and makes sure the textures arent stretched, or breaking at worst, then its doable.

To make that easy to understand, Its not easy to just port hair to a model, theres at least a days worth of work for each hair style and that cuts into content development. So on top of making a new crafting endgame, new gathering endgame, new Raid tier, new Relic contnet FOR battle classes AND non battle classes, and beast tribe, Testing all of that, and then making sure all of the new gear and models work within the physics engine, and essentially all the same stuff I listed for one hair style being done to multiple new models, and then making sure there arent any game breaking class tweaks..raids arent over tuned or under tuned.

You can see theres a lot more to a hair style then what most see or even understand, now imagine doing all that for content meant for an entire patch.
