I was a bit shocked that se added alot of role play but no role play server.
Yes well if you can find joy in even the crappiest situations, and you find joy in FFXIV, then that just tells me FFXIV might be a crappy situation.

Tanaka must be spinning in his grave seeing the aggro indicator and ! marks above NPC's heads. The latter two of which seem quite contrary to what a role-player would want, btw.

Omygosh and miss the fun of grinding jobs and crafts to 50 o.O. You can't just stop at 15 when you can waste hours and even days taking them to 50 and show off your great gear. Oh wait... you can wear great gear at 15. I don't know, I just do it because that is what Oprah told me to do!!! Wait... maybe I'm thinking of someone else :P.

Theoretically, if you were level capped at 15, wouldn't you still be able to progress the story (finish this part, go on to the next chain of events)? It's just now you have a fixed level which the devs can be sure you are at and give you what is sure to be a level appropriate challenge? Same with goes quests. What's so magical about 50?

If so ignore anything you may have learned over there. None of what was said even remotely true.

And yes your building your character they are addong instanced dungeons sometime soon (delayed due to earthquack + tsunami + multi nuclear reactors going melt down)

they plan on fixing combat and adding dungeons plus adding compaines (finally)

    X i'm that type of person. I don;t need a carrot to enjoy a game. I just log on and do w.e I want w/o a goal.
Nah, I missed DCUO. I saw the trailer, went huh, and remember I hate it when devs waste money on those things and never show ingame footage. Didn't look back.

Well that's good to hear. So why as someone put it, do we have to invest into the time sink to enjoy those things? Does the gameplay itself get significantly more complex as the levels roll on? Is it more leveling for the sake of leveling? Are the things you can do at 50 much different in nature than what you can do at 15 (and if so does the gameplay change over time to prepare you for it)?

If as gifthorse said, these things are pointless time sinks, then wouldn't SE have been better off in not having time sinks (and also reducing the useless cap on GLs since you don't have to sink time into the game to rank up)?

I don't hate WoW, though I may act like it I just had bad experiences on it. I didn't hate Aion, I just had a bad time on it. I didn't hate ffxi, And from what I seen UI don't hate ffxiv. I'm a lvling type person not an end game type person. My fun is just going out and making things dead.
I like the fact that this game was made with motion capture. I even like some of the so called "lack luster" animations.

The only thing I hated about two worlds was the graphics, the voice overs, and the progession. You had to skill up everything inorder to be mediocer.
The story line was pretty good, I kinda cheated my way through it as it was pretty bad to lvl up in the game.

I play all sorts of game like the sims or halo but mainly mmo. I'm pretty easy to please. I just play a game to have fun. I don;t need the game to please me. Or the devs tailor it to me. I also made suggestions on improvements, but all the complaining necro'ed them.
amen, if you enjoy it, ply it, if you dont? move on....

If people moved on and didnt say why they dislike the game, the developers would have nothing to go against when they ask the question "Why are people leaving? whats wrong with out game?"

SE has asked us to be here, like the game or not they want to hear what we have to say, if you dont like that then block us.

You know that can be said for every single activity for every single MMORPG on the market?

    of course it can
and the same time, we see everyone use the same excuse as for "why level" or "why do this" "why do that"

in the end, these games are nothing but huge time sinks, if you play this as a "life goal" or seriously as if it mattered then isnt that moreso a problem then what they game itself is doing.

in wow, you waste 85 levels getting to endgame, 85 horrible levels that you dont wanna have to do cuz they suck and nothing is worth doing before then(after all wow is just an endgame, and anyone who says otherwise doesnt realize how that game evolved)
so why not just start everyone off at 85? cuz thats not how things work
time sinks, its all any game is

rank in this game (at this moment) is very important...

    don't believe me?

change to your r50 class, remove all of your gears, assign nothing to every attributes and use a broken weapon.... you still strong enough to kill r40-50 mobs
