Which is what I want too. I want to do hardcore crafts but if they can be done easily just because you have lots of gil it's no longer "hardcore" in my eyes.
Nobody mentioned lots of Gil. Expert recipes are going to be based on rng and both skill according to Yoshida, so we will just have to see how that plays out in 5.21.
I just want it to be worth doing for myself. If I can wait a bit after 5.21 drops and get anything I want out of it just by buying it on the MB I just don't see the point in putting the effort to craft it myself.
Oh, I misunderstood. I thought you meant a lot of Gil as in “only players will hundreds of millions of Gil can do ______” like most washed out arguements I’ve seen lol. And yeah, I can understand that.

Somehow convinced myself to prepare facet for 5.2.1 and completely did all gathering / crafting gear and tools over 2 days and remelded cheaply.
It was more fun than I expected as getting as much hq as possible in the pre-combines, meant the final combines were done in less than 40 mins.
It does make life much easier by removing the rare unlucky outliers I got beforehand (about 10 nq's from all precombines), but since I manually craft anyhow, it mainly just turned 85% into 100% hq. I do hope the new recipes are harder with the facet than the facet was with the i430's.
