That would actually be very nice, how it would work I'm not quite sure though. Perhaps allow you to designate which materia you want melded out of your inventory? Would be awesome to afk overnight and come back to a melded item.

choose a piece of gear, choose the materia, have a fixed fee like current repairs, 40+ = 500gil etc etc.
people come along, have the class, boom, they explode your gear
