I would. Hiir would too, that is why she is blisting them.
So morally, if this game allowed you to accidentally drop something on the ground without you noticing it (I know, obscure example, but follow me.) and it allowed other players to see that item and pick it up, would you stand exactly where the item dropped and then constantly seek out the owner of the item? Morally, you should, but then what stops a unmoral person from stepping up and claiming the item.

And then, after you give this person the item, he/she walks away of course, the real owner walks toward you and says, "Okay, wheres my loot?" of course at this point, you basically stole their item off the ground and gave it to someone else. Who is in the wrong in this crazy world of ours!?!?!

    >.> I like examples. o: especially my poorly drawn out ones. :3

But where was the scam in all this? I guess from now on, based on this, I'll be afraid to do anybody's repairs unless for dark matter of equal or lesser value. Or fear that I may be scamming someone out of 5,000 gold that they meant to place for 500 gil, 5 gil, 50 gil, so on. I'm no thief, no sir!
    Really now?
Are you comparing 5.000, 10.000 or even 100.000 with 13 million?
Are you even serious about this?

It would not be a theft if you didnt see the action of dropping the item, that would be finders keepers.
You just found the item laying there and you took it.

The way the situation went now is that this Nick Zealot saw money offered and thought "Lets steal it and hope that he doesn't notice".
And even worse when the guy did notice he didnt give it back, heck he wasnt even talking to him at first pretending to be AFK.
Threatening to call a GM would be natural.

If I received money for a service, and believe the money is mine, according to this anybody who puts a money reward in repairs could be making a mistake and I could be scamming them. So I don't want money, cause it starts out with accepting a job, and ends with my name plastered all over the official forums and a scammer and thief.

Maybe one day you'll understand Alaula. :3

In this case, there was no "seeking". Nick Zealot knew perfectly well what had happened. If he didn't, why did he offer 11m to Hobbes? Because he knew it wasn't fair, what he did, and that last dying gasp of decency managed to hold up his petering moral character for a full five minutes! (Bravo!)

But alas... 'twas not enough decency in his bones to follow through fully and in the end, he's still blacklisted.

There is no service in this game that costs 13 million.
    Argue with that...

Whoa whoa, so your saying, cause I saw someone's credit card with their name on it laying on the ground, by the rules of this "Finders-keepers" I can keep it?

Plus now, your making assumptions of what went through Nick's mind, but I believe in his head he may have just got a lucky break, and this guy being nice to him was just trying to be even more nice to him. I'm not a mind reader and say, "Oh, his full intent was to steal his money!" Cause theft would mean that the item was stolen from him without his consent, which of course consent is implied when the OP had to play the item in his bazzar, set a price, and then confirm that the price was correct.

So if I say that consent was not given between the stage of posting an item in the bazzar and then setting it's price, I'd have to say any item place in someone's personal bazzar for an amount not previously agree'd upon by person A and person B is a scam. and that person B is a thief for taking it without their permission.

Are you serious again? Do not compare different things just because it suits your point.
If the loot had a name it would be theft, if you dont know to who it belongs then its not.

Plus now, your making assumptions of what went through Nick's mind, but I believe in his head he may have just got a lucky break, and this guy being nice to him was just trying to be even more nice to him. No he thought: Lets take that money from this unlucky fool and lets pretend that nothing happened.
NONE IN THIS GAME WILL OFFER 13m FOR A GEAR FIX, its EASY to know what the guy who stole the money thought.
YES! the money was stolen from him without his conset because if he intended to give them away he would not ask for them back.
Where the hell is your common sense?

Attaching 7 material to my level 10 weapon, that is worth 13mil imo. xD
And this action is comparable with repairing a shield?

    Alaula,
The guy made a mistake and he admitted it. Doesn't matter what Nick thought, he said he wants to give 11M back. Why not the whole amount minus a fair price to repair the gear, which shouldnt be more than 10k?

You still didn't answer my question, would you keep the 13M even though the guy is sending you tells asking for it back because he made a mistake?

This is not a finder's keepers game, you didn't "find" anything, you simply got overpaid through a mistake.

If we were all nicer, this world would be a better place lol. I am sure at the end of the day OP will be fine, i mean it's just gil, but i bet you right now a lot of people from Fabul will not like Nick, which is such a shame hehe...

It has a name of somebody I don't know, so no one I know is hurt, that is pretty moral in my opinion. But if sarcasm tasted good, we'd all be pretty full right now.

But sadly, unless SE can find a way to enter everyone's homes and inject rainbows into their spines, this world can never be a truly wonderful place.

Yeah, also, the moral thing to do would be to leave Nick alone as well, we are not here to judge a situation we are not place in. "Oh if I was in that situation, I would have done xyz!" yeah right!

If I saw a million dollars laying in a bag hidden underneath a bench in the middle of a park, Sure I would take it. Sure I could have killed a millionaires daughter in the process, but I believe... In my heart that money was a gift from Sithis himself.
