    >>Nick Zealot: that was a mistake
    >>Nick Zealot: <<Hello!>>?
As you could see he asked politely first, and some time has past before he raised it to the higher authority. None of those lines are threatening. Even if you take into account that Nick might not understand what "pls" means, all those lines are attempting to open a conversation.

    line 10;
    >>Nick Zealot: if you do not reply, i will contact the GM about this

Within all that time, Nick did not reply, not even to say <Hello!> back. Thus, Hobbes took it to the authorities as the next step.

If you take a look at the log, you can clearly see time has past with the intermediate /tells Hobbes had by mistake with another person. If some other player had time to reply to Hobbes, why didn't Nick reply in all that time? Even if Nick didn't understand English that well, the <<Hello!>> would at least have indicated he wanted to open a conversation.

That whole initial bit just seems too odd to me for someone who apparently intended to give back all the gil.
    Also Accurate.

Morally wrong yes but Theft? No. That doesn't make me wrong or heartless. You keep talking about slander yet at the same time doing it to me by calling me heartless when you know nothing about me. I'm pathetic for finding it funny that the idiot will burn through the money and get no real advantage from it? Stop taking stuff and people on the internet so serious. Its really unhealthy. People are jerks things happen and people will get over it. Quit being a hypocrit go get some air and calm down its really not worth it.
In common usage, theft is the illegal taking of another person's property without that person's permission or consent with the intent to deprive the rightful owner of it.

The word is also used as an informal shorthand term for some crimes against property, such as burglary, embezzlement, larceny, looting, robbery, shoplifting and fraud.

Embezzlement is the act of dishonestly appropriating or secreting assets by one or more individuals to whom such assets have been entrusted.

Larceny is a crime involving the wrongful acquisition of the personal property of another person.

Looting (Hindi lūṭ, akin to Sanskrit luṭhati, [he] steals; also Latin latro, latronis "thief")—also referred to as sacking, plundering, despoiling, despoliation, and pillaging—is the indiscriminate taking of goods by force as part of a military or political victory, or during a catastrophe, such as during war, natural disaster, or rioting. The term is also used in a broader sense, to describe egregious instances of theft and embezzlement, such as the "plundering" of private or public assets by corrupt or greedy authorities.

Robbery is the crime of taking or attempting to take something of value by force or threat of force or by putting the victim in fear. At common law, robbery is defined as taking the property of another, with the intent to permanently deprive the person of that property, by means of force or fear.

In criminal law, a fraud is an intentional deception made for personal gain or to damage another individual.

In my opinion, what Nick Zealot has done falls into more than one of the aforementioned categories. Including Fraud, Robbery, Looting, Larceny, and Embezzlement.

Just because the moneys was acquired through legal means does not mean he hasn't commited these offenses.

If Nick Zealot were called to court and judged by a Jury of his Peers, each and everyone of us could be considered a Jury member as we are indeed his Peers. In which case I cast my vote: Guilty as Charged.

Xianghua, you have the right to your own opinion. If you so choose "Not Guilty3 then that is your choice, in which case you have no right of being upset If you one day find yourself in the same scenario as the OP.

I'm sorry, but I take this very seriously. The OP has invested a great amount of his precious time in acquiring that gil, perhaps over a year, only to have it taken away from him in a brief moment of ignorance. This is no laughing matter.

One of Humanitie's greatest crimes is it's total indifference towards other members of it's own species.

And I agree completely that Nick is in the wrong. He is taking advantage of someones mistake and being a complete dick. I'm sorry it has happened to the OP and well not much else i can really say. But you don't have to go about personally attacking me and others just because we see it a little bit differently then you do. We didn't take the money. All we did was make a few post of our opinions. I do wish you would go calm down some though it's not good to get angry at me and others because nick is a jerk.

It comes across to me as not only theft, but bullying. The poor guy has lost ALL his Gil due to human error, a simple mistake, that was greedily and zealously taken advantage of by the aptly named Nick Zealot. From the chat logs it comes across pretty obvious that Nick and his LS mates are laughing at OP's mistake. The OP immediately tried to fix the situation as politely as possible, it was only due to Nick's ignorance that the OP decided to call a GM - and let's be honest - WHO WOULDN'T?!

The bullying I'm referring to are the way Nick and his friends are obviously mocking the OP, saying that "Oh you weren't nice so you don't get your money," or "oh, you didn't use the word 'could'" or "ooh maybe if you ask nicely," or "oh maybe if you say 'pretty please with a cherry on top'" or "maybe if you /shout a public apology." Hold on - a public apology for WHAT?!

This is not only theft, it is bullying and it's quite honestly sickening that many members of this "community" are in favour of Nick and his friends' behaviour. What the actual f*ck?

Very true. Never really looked at it like that. More of the reason why Nick is just a complete jerk.

In all honestly though this goes for everyone including myself. If we are going to talk about good morals and whats right and wrong. We seriously need to stop these personal attacks against people who have different opinions then our own.

    Hello Folks,

We are going to close this thread, now, as this is an in game matter and nothing can be done via the forums.

We understand the desire to debate and resolve this issue through the community but we feel this is best dealt with while in game.

    Thank you for your understanding.
