Hello to the Developers who may be so kind in helping me with this problem. I am Hobbes Graywyrd from the Fabul server. I am sorry for this is going to be a rather long post but I was placed in a dire situation where I had no options left and couldn't find a reasonable solution. So I found this might be appropriate to find a feasible solution.
It started on January 21, 2012 around 2 am Pacific Standard Time in the city-state, Ul'dah. I was dead tired and wasn't really watching what I was doing. I placed an item for repairs instead of a transaction. We all know having the exceeding amount for a transaction amount wasn't going to be sold and it was worth valuable to the player. The transaction was made for my entire gil that I owe. It was an honest mistake of mine and I regretfully will not do it again. The guy who repaired my item is name Nick Zealot. He was a guy I happened to be in an experience party on the same night. He was a good guy and wanted to learn Japanese until I figure out what he was all about. I had asked nicely if he could return my money back. He didn't reply back at all and I waited for a while. He wasn't AFK, he was much active and was talking or gloating about what has happened and how much gil he received to his LS mates. I asked nicely and apologized if I can have my gil back only to find he wouldn't reply back at all. I know it might be wrong of me to do since I threaten to call a GM and ask because since I had no reply back at all, what was I supposed to do? I am left with no gil at all. This made him angry when I said I was going to call GM. He didn't reply back at all. He was clearly adamant to keep the money I own. He was talking plentiful during the experience party but he wouldn't talk to me about what just happened? I found this to be suspicious and shady on his part. He logged off 20 min later. I went to go figure out who his friends were by checking what LS's he was under. I asked a friend of his named Junrk Suye telling me I had to be nice to him in order to get my money back. Ok. Junrk stated he was going to give me back 10 or 11 million gil back and he would keep the rest. I said and thinking to myself this is extortion. I earned and worked hard in the money I made in this game. How would you react when you suddenly lost your money by an accident or was swindled by? Isn't this breaking the user agreement right here when you're trying to negotiate and cause grief to a player of his money?
Enclose are the screenshots on what happened and the conversations between Junrk when he was the middle man when Nick chooses not to talk to me through tells.
(Through each tell I gave to him, I waited for a reply back. I waited for over 5 min and received no reply at all.)
The only time Nick talks to me is when he decides to extort money that I earned and wanted me to shout as an apology. I know of my mistake that I did not have over 14 million but instead he did say through his friend that he screenshot of what he got was 13.7 million. Ok. I was fine with that. He had proof but I wasn't trying to gain more money out of him. I was dead tired and wanted to resolute all of this. That's the money he got through me. Alright, though I still wanted my money back. I tried again through tells to see if he would be so kind in returning but he chose to ignore me instead. I wasn't sure what else I was supposed to do. So I had no choice to call a GM to inquire about the problem. The GM response was an automated one and to go to the following URL to seek support about this matter. I wasn't sure how to make of this since there was no help on what to do upon this matter.
More hours later like around 10 or 11 pm PST on the same day, I tried again when he was online and asked nicely if he could return the money I earned and still will not reply back to me. Much later, I received a tell from another friend of his telling me the following:
I'm not sure if this friend of his understand what is going on and using the situation to seem like they're confused to have it at their advantage to keep the money. I was confused on how he/she use the context in their words. I made Nick Zealot mad when I told him I was going to call a GM but how was I supposed to react when my money is taken from me and he is not replying at all. It seem shady and conspicuous to me.
So I am asking the developer team or someone from SE to help me out and examine this conflicting situation. It is obviously I made a mistake on my part when I placed the item on seek repairs for a huge sum of money. What I'm curious about is why would the guy who repair it not say anything about it and keep to himself instead? Is it greed or being selfish? The only time he would talk to me was to negotiate on money arrangements. It was then I knew from that point he had other intentions besides resolute the problem at hand. What could be done about this?
I know this is a lesson to be learned and of course on my part as it is my mistake. For those who are reading this long post, I am hoping you understood what was going on and see things clearly under my perspective of what was going on. I am hoping there are others who won't come to this problem either as I do not wish it upon them. But I believe mistakes can be rectified and this is why I have been trying to contact him.
When something in real life is lost and you found it, would you keep it or give it back to his/her owner?
Again Nick, if you are reading this, I am asking you to please do the right thing and return my money back please.
