I agree with this assessment. "Teach a man to fish", as they say. Even if we look into, or are provided the OPs gear and stats, simply giving him a rotation isn't really helping him. Not the long term.

The post by Reap00 might generate a negative response, but it was actually one of the more helpful posts I read. Whether or not the OP seeks the rewarding experience that comes with learning how to craft on your own; it certainly cannot be expected for said crafter to disclose how they got there when the person seeking advice does not show the willingness to put in the same effort, and why would they? It's basically the same as copying the notes from the kid in class who is actually paying attention and putting in actual effort to succeed.

The tone would be so much different if the OP came here with a rotation they are trying, or seeking a better understanding of how a certain ability works or ties into another. Basically questions that express a genuine interest into how to craft instead of seeking a cheat sheet. There are guides for that from the players willing to put in the time to assist those seeking the easy path.

There players who struggle with crafting system I am one of them. I dont come here to the forum for help because of answers like Reap's. You assume the person puts in no effort, truth OP was trying and having some problems when nobody replied he went to figuring things out on his own. I know this cause I met up with him and offered help instead of doing the "pin 20 to his shirt and wish him the best of luck". Stop thinking that everyone who asks for rotation is not putting in effort, why not make effort yourselves and maybe ask if they have tried to figure out themselves first. Sorry that are players who enjoy crafting yet struggle to understand the system and want a way to craft without bashing their skulls in further.

It's good he went to figure things out on his own. I'm not assuming, nor do I feel the crafting system is so simple a monkey can do it. It is an intricate system that has undergone quite a few changes. However, it's not they are asking for a rotation, it's more along the lines of simply asking for a rotation doesn't give us any idea why the player inquiring is having trouble. We don't know their gear, their stats, what their current rotation entails, and no one is under any obligation to seek out this players in game profile. That's on them.

In short, help us help you. It is far more gratifying to stretch out those brain muscles and try to figure things out on your own. We have all kinds of posts going around talking about how crafting isn't challenging, and it makes me wonder how many of those players were given a rotation and didn't craft any of their own facet gear. It makes me wonder how many players free craft - as intended, and make calculated decisions based on the current situation and procs available. The more you work at understanding the system, the less likely you are to come here asking for a rotation. I am hard pressed that any crafter who has put in the work would feel differently.

I consider crafting high level items impossible without the Teamcraft simulator. It lets me set up a rotation that will work with no risk (Unless I end up with a Poor status in the wrong place). I'm not about to spend hours / days gathering the materials only to lose them blindly trying out a new rotation..
