Facebook will tell if something has been autotranslated with the option to see the original text or it'll do the opposite and give you the option to see translated text.

What this guy has posted doesn't show this. I also went on the Italian FFXIV Facebook and it's all in Italian for me, not auto translated.

    It could be:
    - The person/people they've hired aren't very professional in their writing & translating from English (or another language)
    - They're not Italian and are just using Google Translate.

Given the examples given, I'm inclined to think the latter. Unfortunately Google Translate is not infallible and if people wanted the Google translate, they could just let Facebook autotranslate for them and try to work out what they mean when there's bad translation because from the sounds of it, it's the same experience to the user.

"Global Pages let your business provide localised versions of content for your customers all over the world with one universal brand name and the same vanity URL for each Page. You can also share total fan count and global insights across your entire fan base.

With Global Pages, you can post content that's meaningful for an audience in one location, and share different content that's just as relevant for an audience in another location. For example, you can share seasonal sales in one location, while reporting shop closures for a holiday in another location."

In short, they post on the @FinalFantasyXIV page in English, and Facebook redirects any users whose primary language is set to Italian to a @FinalFantasyXIV.IT subpage that auto-translates it to Italian.

So it is auto-translated by Facebook based on your Facebook settings (primary language). It will also do things like change times to your local time based on timezone. This is not controlled by your browser settings or any plug ins on your end, nor is it handled by SE themselves: it is 100% on Facebook's side.

The French version is a proper translation though, not a machine one. So I'm unsure, maybe only the unsupported languages are auto-translated. There is also official interaction with the french community.

Did you read the link I gave you? Especially about how it will allow for localisation including content relevant to one subpage but not others? Because that literally would mean some posts are completely different (as well as having separated post interactions such as likes and comments whilst retaining a 'linked' page like count).

No one at SE is manually typing up posts in Italian, Facebook is generating that sub-page using auto-translation tools based off the main page. Same will be true if several other languages.

But not for French and German since they have official translators.

if that's true then all the post on englisgh page would be on the italian page, but it's not true, they are behind a couple of days.
and even if it's so (that it isn't) it's still unprofessional let the facebook auto translate handle thing

Dont know if someone needs to point you at the facebook for business page that explains exactly how you can set up auto-translations based on any of the following:

Registered country of origin for any phone number tied to the users facebook account
geolocation of the device used to access the page
    language settings

The page you are seeing is the redirect for Italian auto-translation for the main page. Its the same core page, its the same likes, its the same favorites. Its entirely handled on the backend by facebook based on the settings on the ff14 facebook account.

Any posts you dont see on the redirect that you do see on the non-redirected page is likely to not have been correctly formatted for that language and region in both the data feed and the data feed file.

So FFXIV is not translated into Spanish because the poor indie company SE doesn't have money to pay for translators, I understand.

So much time selling armor and mounts for 20 euros has not paid off to hire people. I guess that's why we also have the game full of bots.

    Jesus Christ man.

P.D: I liked reading that according to a potato one of the most widely spoken languages in Japan is English. I don't know if he's a troll or if he hasn't stepped on Asian ground in his life.
