Couldn't geomancer be a healer? After all, one of them comes from Hingashi during the astrologian job quests and join lady Leleva cause they both think their skills can complement each other.

Geomancer could be whatever SE wanted it to be, but maybe it wouldn't feel quite as unique with Conjurer existing. Even if it's just a class and not a job.
Red Mage is a job that's a hybrid of Black and White Mage, yet doesn't play or feel like either. I'm sure they can design Geomancer in a way where it's not a blatant copy of Conjurer/White Mage, even if they share similar concepts.
...Then again maybe not, especially after what they've done with the healers in 5.0.
I don't doubt it. What little we've seen of Geomancer in XIV is not much like Conjurer and seemingly more aligned with AST.Red Mage is a job that's a hybrid of Black and White Mage, yet doesn't play or feel like either. Still, I'd rather see a non-magical healer for a change so I've shifted from Green Mage to "Chemist" or whatever they end up calling it. I don't see melee healers working in this game so something that works at range but isn't a spellcaster could be fun.
