It's not really like the dungeons ever amounted to much more than run it once and then done with it. As they are, they just don't have much of anything going on in them aside from being pretty.

I am going to make an assumption and say you're a raider, and if that's the case, I understand.
But for people who don't do the end-game raids, there's not a lot else to do at end-game besides the expert roulette.
Edit: I should say, not a lot else for combat classes to do. Obviously if you're a crafter you're going to enjoy next patch.

The current Expert Roulette ones aren't even really all that relevant either... I'll never get this communities obsession with dungeons, they're such lackluster pieces of content...
Hi, I don't do Raids or Trials. Expert Roulette is still irreverent to me. Not a lot else to do at endgame? Try Hunts, Treasure Maps, PvP, Deep Dungeons, Relics (when they're finally added), Achievement hunting and so on.
Even if you take a very narrow view to what endgame is, there are plenty of other ways to farm 450 tomestones a week. Endgame is really what you want it to be though, there is plenty to do in this game besides chasing meaningless item levels.

Treasure maps are such a poor excuse. It's random as to if you'll get into the dungeon, progression inside the dungeon is random, and there's nothing but AoE pulls until the final floor. I can't imagine why you'd hate dungeons but love treasure maps, they have all of the problems dungeons have but worse.
I was wearing the pvp set in my avatar when you replied to me there. PvP is not PvE. It's not even the same game, since jobs are redesigned in it.
There's no deep dungeon or relic quest in Shadowbringers yet.
Hunts... I mean, if you're going to condescend to me about how dungeons are a waste of time, I'm going to do that to you over hunts. I have no idea why you enjoy them. I would never tell you to stop enjoying them or that you're wrong for enjoying them, like you're trying to do to me right now. But hunts don't take up a lot of time, in fact from what I understand people use them because it's quicker to cap tomestones using them than using the expert roulette. That's what I'm looking for, something to do.
They're gutting the thing I do most and not giving me anything in compensation except content I don't want to do (crafting). That's great for the crafters, I can still be upset about the decision and request they think of something new for 4-man content in exchange.
They're the same, but with a more engaging and exciting reward system, compared to dungeons which have... Nothing going for them? Oh a chest with some gear to desynth/vendor. Thrilling. Maps, while RNG, at least offers some fanfare with its reward structure.
It's still something to do after finishing the MSQ. It's still something which rewards the same thing as dungeons (tomestones) and is far more engaging to perform than said dungeons (IMO), because PvP by its nature is dynamic. Every match is different, compared to dungeons where every single one is the same trash > boss cycle.
I know, though that really doesn't stop you doing the old ones TBH. Palace of the Dead and Heaven-on-High reward basically the same thing as Expert Roulette dungeons. Achievement hunting is also a valid form of endgame, so feel free to aim for those solo clear achievements.
I don't. I loath Hunts, I don't even touch them, same as dungeons. I was simply pointing out that they are a viable source of the exact same, if not better, rewards. Same tomestone rewards, plus Nuts for additional rewards.
Point is, even if I don't specifically like a form of content (such as Hunts), I'm all for more variety in what to do in this game. There is plenty of variety, and losing another copy/paste dungeon for even more? I wont weep. Two dungeons per patch which were the exact same corridor of trash to boss was a frivolous use of development time. One dungeon is perfectly fine, it servers a story purpose and then can be forgotten for most of us, or join the mountain of dungeons to roulette for those of you who enjoy them.
