If you are talking about the conversation within the thread from Omy Song, I am not triggered, but I agree to what that one Lalafell lady with the brown/orange hair was mentioning:

Playing a female as male is absolutely fine, but many create their weird Barbie dolls and that is strange in my opinion - especially that they often overdo it have an according behaviour. Actual women tend to dress themselves with (more) taste because they are female and can more relate other than a guy that might want to create a puppet for his fantasies.... Can't put my finger on it, but it has a weird vibe to me.

I am a male in real life, I enjoy my gender; my Lalafell is male too and I have no problem staring at Sam Fisher's rear when I play Splinter Cell etc. I do love to play as Morgana in LoL though. Very much even...

    Sincerely,

So I will always be assumed to be an actual woman. Woo who. Gotta change that. *strips her down and makes her look as scantly clad as possible*

Now I am a man, without any doubt whatsoever.

This actually sounds like a fun game. Get a group of ~20 people or so and let us guess what they are.

My Co-tank made a comment about how "gay" it looked and how REAL MEN like him and me would never wear it!
So... I changed into my WoL-armor and told him "I'm not a guy" - I think he actually made a comment about how he had never met a girl who played a tank almost as good as him aswell... could have been almost a compliment - hadnt I been the better tank in the first place.
    One of my fondest memories...

(Other than that I never cared about it - I might react slower when refered to as "he" because it takes me a second to realise "oh, you meant ME, sure, sure, sorry!" but I never correct them - even now, playing as a female character, I sometimes get refered to as "he")
Also, big oof on that bolded part. lol.

Of course you would be assumed as a woman, you are playing a female character after all. Or should I refer to "him" when I adress a cat lady? And about your unreasonable exaggeration: That is the core problem of you and people with your mindset. Do you want to be seen as male or female? And do you start to be triggered when I am assuming something? Look how much spin these threads get, and you are a part of that "confusion", but you love to stir things up by the trap you set up yourself (playing a female as a male and thus wondering when people address you wrongly). Maybe I just don't like fakes and are more up to WYSIWYG. You gotta live with that; it's your own choice after all.

It’s an MMO, just let people have their own fun and don’t be weird about it.
Oh yeah, sorry, I forgot to add all the possible disclaimers to my post so you can't overwrite my personal opinion and observations by your opinion that is backed up with 0 facts as "That's not correct". Do you realize we both have a different view on the matter, but one of us is trying to "be right" about it? It gives me many weird vibes when someone plays the other gender, and there is nothing wrong with that, even if you wish to play the political correct person. I don't have to like and justify everything. If it's "an MMO" (what is that even supposed to help your argument?), I am not allowed to be creeped out when some overly sexualized Viera toon's player is called "Mike"?

You implied in your first post that you can "tell" whether a female character is being played by a female or male by how they dress. Now someone has taken that statement and run with it ("people will think I'm female because I dress my character in a way that indicates I am female! I'd better fix that!") and you don't even seem to realise the irony they're aiming for - that if they were dressed scantily from the start, you would assume they are male playing with a female character.

Your original post makes assumptions about male vs female intentions that are simply unfair generalisations, and you're being called out for it - but apparently the sarcasm isn't getting through.

I was indeed being sarcastic but wasn't calling him out for those things(or didn't intend to come off that way). However the thing that happens a lot, especially in-game, is assumptions and generalizations. I know that unfortunately it is this way due to historical reasons. We can all say that female characters dressed like prostitutes are men, but it may just be that it is a woman in reality and such style is truly her thing. Can't really know for sure, and in my case, I just don't bother telling because it's not important, and it shouldn't be, but knowing what you are is a big deal to some people.

This mentality continues to perplex me. What about that scenario is odd or creepy? Males are attracted to the female physique and like dressing up their virtual characters sexily. Also, not everyone RP's their character or plays with the mindset of injecting parts of themselves into their virtual avatar. As long as they aren't sending you inappropriate messages and aren't acting like a creeper, then what exactly is the issue? I'm genuinely curious.
