So, for 45 seconds out of every 60, Ninja is very freeform. Just don't sit on 2 stacks of Ninjutsu, keep Huton active, spend your Ninki on Bhava, and do a Suiton when there's less than 20 seconds left on the Trick Attack recast (so you can use it as soon as it comes up). Once you press that Trick Attack, that's when the fun starts. Within that window, you'll need to shove 1) Shadow Fang 2) Dream Within a Dream 3) Assassinate 4) Kassatsu-Raiton (later Hyosho Ranryu - the Kassatsu itself can be used before Trick) 5) 1-2 more Raiton depending on how stuff lines up, and 6) for every other Trick, Ten-Chi-Jin, the Fuma-Raiton-Suiton variant. After 72, this'll also lead into Meisui, which'll also give you an extra Bhava. It's really hectic, and even when done right, it can feel somehow wrong, probably because of the total omission of weaponskills when TCJ's involved.
In AoE, it's just Blossom-Mujin spam, with Ninki on Frogs, Ninjutsu on Do/Katon, and TCJ on Fuma-Katon-Doton (so don't do a manual Doton if you'll have TCJ in a couple of seconds).

I don't think anyone expects from anyone to have mastered every single class, but at least do some reading on skill combinations or the class in general?
Like I'm trying to level all my combat classes as well, and I'm outright terrible on some of them when it comes to damage output, but I at least try to stay alive as starter, use AoE when possible and do mechanics.
Which is something most bad people not even succeed at...

I'm looking over guides but a good chunk of them are for 80, I'm only 70 and alot of the stuff is going over my head. Maybe I should just stick to tanking? But I don't want to give up on it.. least not yet. I could just be over thinking it all and just keep practicing... I dunno. I know it's odd to ask for advice on here since I don't think any of you guys ran into me ingame or seen a video so it's kindof hard to pinpoint things I can improve on with just text... but am I just over thinking this? What do you guys think?

So i always give the same advice in this situation. You arent sure if youre doing it right(it doesnt feel right, but do you have a good feel for it?), the guides dont really apply to your situation, and you want to know so you can improve or pick a class better suited to your personal style. First, thank you for asking. Even if you suck as a ninja(which we dont know yet), this self awareness and desire to improve shows you dont suck as a player. So what we need to do is quantify your performance. The "official" way to do this is to run a SSS variant. If youre level 70 and wearing level 70 gear, then the Stormblood version should suffice(accessed from rhalgrs). A quick google search should find you an SSS calculator. Pick a fight, record either the time you finished in or what percentage health was left when time ran out. Calculator will give you a number approximating your DPS. A little more searching should lead you to find approximately how good your number is for your level. Or you could just use completing the dummy as proof that youre doing ok. If going this route, make sure youre trying sufficiently difficult dummies.

Not gonna lie, I have actually posted "You suck" or some variation on multiple occasions in the past and while I know karma will bite me in the rear someday, I just can't help myself. I'm a blunt individual that doesn't take nonsense lightly. I get so triggered when I see even the most basic of things be completely ignored or done poorly; The no AoE DPS, the no CD Tanks, the no healing Healers. I do try and help people, put on my best Retail smile and offer advice but when I see level 80s pulling stuff like that, there are no kid gloves for them. I'm not expecting 99th percentile parses but to, at least have a firm enough understanding of your job to do the basics consistently.

Yeah, I should have said "most" people. There are definitely those out there. I don't fault you for it, I get annoyed at players all the time in this game. Someone probably would report you someday, so you are walking on thin ice I'd say.

Ok I'm a dummy. My first reply to you was wrong as I clicked the WRONG dummy on the SSS site. my dps was actually 3399.28. I knew 853 was low. So I tried it again and clicked the correct dummy. Which was the normal shinryu trial. So yeah... I'm 3399 currently at level 70. PHEW.... But I still wonder what that number means. Tho I think that's still low isn't it? If you're on primal I can show you.

Finally managed to down Hades EX.

So many bad groups before i finally found one who knew what they were doing...for the most part.

It got kinda messy at the last phase when quadrastrike killed a healer and one DPS on the spot, then the DOT killed the other three DPS and the surviving healer moments later, but not before the living healer managed to swiftcast raise the first healer, who then got everyone back up with LB3. Then we downed him right at the end of the enrage cast.

Geez, bit more raidwide mitigation on that part maybe?

You tirelessly and thoughtfully, definitely true to the role, spent 12,000 MP raising someone that appreciated not any one of those raises, and even had the audacity to refuse one of them...
