Nah, everyone should be a red mage. You won't have the DPS of a full caster, or the healing of a full healer, but hey, you'll be stylish as hell.

Meanwhile Paladins have the advantage of being nearly impossible to kill unless we do something stupid, allowing us to outlast everybody else and win by attrition in the abscence of enrage timers.

See also, all the stories of Paladins soloing stuff after the entire rest of the party manages to get themselves killed before the halfway point of the fight.

It's not fast by any means, but as far as i'm concerned it beats wiping and starting over.

All that shouting about "Just die!" from the rest of the group? Nope, if it's within my power then i'm gonna finish the fight, not my fault you all killed yourselves. Even better if it's the final boss, because then the dungeon is over afterwards and they can't even try to kick me for it.

In short, you lot manage to all kill yourselves on a dungeon boss? You can stand there outside the boss arena and watch me do it myself, or just watch Netflix or something in the meantime.

Ah reminds me of this one time when weeping city was new (as in currently highest 24m raid), i had been running it all week with varying degrees of success to abandons, it got to Sunday and i was having a particularly bad day, everything was fine until Ozma where 4 wipes happen late into the fight. This ofc increased my frustrations but manage to kill on the 5th attempt.

Cue Calefostari(however you spell her name, too lazy to look up), few deaths to 1st haircut, i was calm, cool, get people up kill adds thought finally another clear at last i thought, then it happened, 22 people all got caught by the snare hair and when they died something in me snapped, i just looked at timer, looked at mt who was in another group and i decided i am taking this thing down by myself (i was a ast btw) so it got combust, combust II and malefic II to death from 50%, mt gave up at around 40% but they had such an aggro lead i wouldn't take it and i made sure they stayed alive so i don't take boss, so many shouts to just die, so much negativity, but i straight up did not care and i proudly solo'd that part.

Was i toxic oh yea, did i waste so much of their time you betcha, but damn was it satisfying knowing they cannot kick me because i was in combat and downing an easy boss wasting their time rather than my own(It may have taken longer but there was no garentee that next few pulls would've killed it so as far as i was concerned worth it), the cherry on top i got the healer chest i wanted and the minion, i'm sure i entered a lot of peoples' blacklist that day but meh :P

I then proceeded to finish her off myself. A whole lot of Clemency and Goring Blade/Royal Authority combos later she goes down, i laugh, and Alliance Chat explodes.

That's... nearly the same as my first clear of the place. It's just that the near-wipe was at like 20%, and I had a couple of rez-less DPS friends who also survived. Made it a bit more manageable.

I dunno about that toxicity, but if you are like holding on until boss is almost dead, those doubts turn immediately to cheer you on to finish it?

Or one DPS survives and you attempt to keep them and yourself alive from unavoidable damage, but you must make the unavoidable and inevitable choice of letting the lone DPS die because you wont be able to sustain the two of you by yourself. Such has happened to me once so far on both sides of the fence.
