So instead of asking them not to pull ahead or picking up the extra mobs given how aggro has become a joke now... you intentionally leave them to die which only slows the run now even further and puts more work on the healer. All because you're petty. Yeah... I'd initiate a Vote Dismissal without a second thought. Just because you're a tank doesn't mean you get to dictate everything. If the party wants to go faster and you refuse, you're just being selfish. You've now forced your preference against three other people.I constantly get self-important DPS thinking they can lead me like I'm on a leash, always running ahead of me and trying to pull things. It's funny to watch them learn and stop doing that when I don't save them. What's not funny is that it happens in 2019 and somehow people are learning such bad habits, even in high-level dungeons. If you queue as a DPS, you submit to playing however fast or slow the tank wants to go. You're not entitled to be asked what the precious DPS wants to do.
I would say this happened to me when I did Baelsar's Wall yesterday, but actually it happens literally every time I tank. Even before they can get fed up with me not speedrunning the duty, they just frolic ahead right into enemies and then sprint back. If you want to be the first person to encounter a group in a duty, be the tank.
And maybe you continuously have DPS pulling ahead because it's Baelsar's Wall in 2019. That dungeon has long become a joke that most tanks will always speed run. Nowadays, there simply isn't an excuse to pull less than two packs.
"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."
I have no problem with picking up as many or as few mobs as the party wants. So instead of asking them not to pull ahead or picking up the extra mobs given how aggro has become a joke now... you intentionally leave them to die which only slows the run now even further and puts more work on the healer. But if I say "Do not engage the next mob until we finish recovering", and a DPS runs ahead to pull the next mob, then I reserve the right to be petty and let them die. It's not even the fact that they're pulling ahead, I have no problem with grabbing enemies from DPS that do that, it's that they did it after being specifically asked not to.

I have to ask, recovering from what? Unless your healer is spamming GCD heals instead of using the rest of their kit and runs low on mana, there's generally nothing to recover from that won't be ready by the next trash pack.

Not this again. Tanks do not dictate the pace of a dungeon. The group does. If the group wants to speedrun then oh well, that's too bad. Better adjust or leave. Slowing the group down even more because you're petty is what I find disappointing in 2019.I constantly get self-important DPS thinking they can lead me like I'm on a leash, always running ahead of me and trying to pull things. On the other hand, wiping the group because you are impatient and run ahead pulling more than the group can handle is also disrespectful, and also costs the party even more time than the tank being a bit slow on pulling. Which actually makes it worse.
So we should start vote kicking DPS who do that. They are wasting the groups time after all.
Cause a wipe by running ahead like a goddamn Leeroy, get the boot.

On the other hand, it's Baelsar's Wall. If you can't handle a little bit of extra mobs then what are you even doing.

We were mass-pulling the Wall when it was current, never mind now.
Oh good, this discussion again. Like anyone's going to change their mind.
If you want to be a DPS that pulls ahead, cool! I mean, I won't heal you if I'm healing, or engage if I'm the second DPS, or pull off you if I'm the tank - but go ahead and do it! That's totally up to you, you're a person. Deal with the consequences.
And if people want to kick me for that, I really don't care.
And if people DON'T want to do that and want to pull them off you as tank, cool beans. I also don't care. No amount of thumbs up or discussion on a forum is going to change my mind so... can we drop it?

Not succumbing to groupthink since 1991. | Lalafell aren't kids or child-like, and I do not care what your opinion is on that point.
