I opened this in another tab, and before I switched over there was a Progressive ad. Thought you were saying that the OP sounded like Flo rambling over-enthusiastically. Kind of great, in its own way. This is how I read the OP: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwfU4ei5gWE

It's not that he doesn't have a valid argument. One could extrapolate that dev time/money was spent making the goobue mount (I can't assume a whole lot really just a bit of jurry rigging of Chocobo data and Goobue .dat. Hell it's evident they have had this under works for a Loooong time considering we had the music for the mount placed in last update (We just didn't know what it was for.)
I just wish they didn't do it at all, I don't think they really spent alot of time/money on it though.
I just think it's a case of way too late to join the argument for or against it now that it's here.
Whatever you smoke.. hand me some of that Stuff over. I would like to leave Reality for once, too.I should start off by stating that I'm disappointed in myself for even making a thread in the G.D. forums. It is a bit hypocritical of me considering how much I publicly despise all the belly-aching that goes on in here. But I would like to vent a little in the small chance that this reaches someone with some say in the game. So, here goes...
I am thoroughly disgusted by the main content in patch 1.20b. Why on earth would, you the people developing this game, consider making such a ridiculously superfluous thing as the Goobue mount? We have Chocobos already. In the future we will even have a variety of types of Chocobos. Why was there time, effort, and resources spent to the development of the new mounts when they add no actual value to the game? I'll grant that they are aesthetically different and novel, but they look absurd! The novelty will be gone in no time at all, and people will have a useless, mentally-deficient, obese tub of vegetable fat that they can ride on.
I believe I understand the intention of the Devs for not wanting to add any content that affects the game's storyline and the future developmental plans in accordance with 2.0. But, I don't believe that the time spent on the Goobue mounts was worth your time and money. I am not a programmer. I have no demonstrable knowledge of everything entailed in making these mounts. But could your resources not have been put to making a couple of decent new monsters to kill? Nothing even too spectacular like Ifrit or Moogle, just something a little bit more difficult than the original world bosses.
It's too late to request any changes about what has happened, but I hope some notion of what I've said lands on the ears of the game's developers. If it has, thank you for listening.
Sincerely and with excited hopes for 2.0,
Actus Reus of The Order of the Blue Garter![]()
I love the new mount.
That sadly was to be expected when threads about jumping mounts and signet features are more popular than serious issues / suggestions.
They put in goobbue mounts? This game is gonna fail so hard.
Iono these things are frikin awesome!
And this really is not an issue to be complaining about.

Yes yes, it wasn't the poor launch, not the crappy content and UI lag, not the original EXP debuff that slowed progress of every player, not any of the BS this game had to offer that made you lose hope. It's goobbue mounts.
For Christ's sake.
The point from OP is: Goobbue mount or Goobbue NM ? Same development time (prolly even less).
Made challenging and rewarding enough, a Goobbue NM would have been a much better use of ressources.
It just keeps adding up.
It's hilarious how people think that just because something gets put in that they don't like, then it is a waste of time even though the majority of the population enjoys the goobbue mounts. Sorry, but this game isn't made for you, it's made for everyone. I can't even put into words how utterly selfish and ignorant it is to think this way.
