Oh wow, lets break the economy making it pacifierlevel. What about nerfing ultimates so we all can wear those cool weapons?, no?, ah, i guess so.Its pretty great. When people get their crafting classes leveled up, they wont have to depend on people who charge high prices on MB for things they want. They could make it themselves provided they have the materials. Unless they dont feel like taking the time to gather materials and craft the item themselves. Then maybe they would purchase off the MB.
Yes. When someone wants a popular piece of glamour for example, they wont have to even think about throwing out 45 million gil they dont have just to get it. Why? Because they leveled their DoH. They can make it themselves provided they feel like gathering the materials themselves. Or if they want to buy the materials, which are usually cheaper than the item itself, thats their choice too. I fail to see the problem in people being self sufficient if they want to be.
You still have to factor in the amount of people who will still not feel like leveling DoH or DoL. They most likely will still make regular purchases on the MB.
You won't be as self sufficient as you hope to. You'll still need to spend millions of Gil or thousands of scrips in materia to overmeld your gear and be able to craft the high-end glamours.
DoH and DoL have always been another important part of the game.Yes. If you wanted to have them to the maximum you had to make an effort and in that way "be sufficient". Now they've nerfed it so that all those bums who didn't want to move two fingers could do it without any kind of effort.
I also want Ultimate's weapons as glamour. I repeat, why not nerf it so that we can all be self-sufficient and have them?
You’re correct, but wrong in regards to me. The amount of self sufficiency I was hoping for myself was not running to buy EVERYTHING that I needed or wanted. And since I’ll be able to gather and craft what I need maybe save said materia. I wont need to give anyone on the MB my gil for the materials or the item itself. Any gil saved is a win.
With the risk of getting off topic, you still need a team to do the Ultimates. From my understanding they were supposed to be some of the hardest fights in the game. Purposefully. I think nerfing them to the point where you could solo them and actually be ‘self sufficient’ would defeat the purpose of them even existing. I dont think comparing the difficulty of a high end boss fight to crafting and gathering is a strong argument. Im sorry if your points are going over my head.DoH and DoL have always been another important part of the game.

Did i say something about making it soloed? With the risk of getting off topic, you still need a team to do the Ultimates. DoH and DoL were created to be another part of the game, with their own high-end. It seems to me that comparing both things (as long as your interlocutor uses all his neurons) is more than justified to make the point clear.
You want the glams?, you make an effort, meld your equipment and get the rotations/macros.
I would like to have the Ultimate titles and weapons but I can't because they are the high-end of the battle classes and require an effort that I can't make.
Is that clear?

Is that clear? You said 'self sufficient' here so I thought you were going along the lines of they should be soloable. So, sorry for the misunderstanding.
And yes now that you've elaborated your point a bit more, I understand your point of view a little better. I also dont know if you were being snide with me. But I got a hint of it. If my past posts seemed like they were mocking or anything sorry about that too. But I genuinely didn't understand. Nevertheless I still stand by my original post.
I don't see the problem with making leveling easy. It was already easy. Crafting isn't just leveling, and most folks that aren't already into it aren't going to teach themselves the finer points to be all that much of a long-lasting threat to the economy.
Perhaps going from 1 to 80, yes.
But the ShB leves did recently get a bump in exp gain, so who knows what's possible these days!?
Either way, with that, beastmen dailies, GC dailies, and now with Ishgard, leveling DoH was never a chore.
