Yes. When someone wants a popular piece of glamour for example, they wont have to even think about throwing out 45 million gil they dont have just to get it. Why? Because they leveled their DoH. They can make it themselves provided they feel like gathering the materials themselves. Or if they want to buy the materials, which are usually cheaper than the item itself, thats their choice too. I fail to see the problem in people being self sufficient if they want to be.

You still have to factor in the amount of people who will still not feel like leveling DoH or DoL. They most likely will still make regular purchases on the MB.
