    The situation reminds me of bad Korean MMO's that allow 100 who camp/afk by an entrance to participate in an event, and then give the middle finger to everyone else.

    Fates need to reoccur and at more regularity even after a stage is completed, for the casual players they were intended for.

    The biggest problem I see with the FATES is that on my server, we completed supplying the goods shortly before most people went to bed and as a result, when people logged back in, all of the FATES were already done. If there going to be FATES, make them like every hour or so for a few days so people get a chance to participate. If they want to prevent people from doing it too many times, lock it behind achievements. Once you earned the achievement, you will not receive any additional reward besides the satisfaction of helping others finish the FATE.

    But yea... my biggest gripe is going to bed seeing that we supplied the goods, only to log back on and seeing everything finished and couldn't participate. I saw videos of the FATE being done and it felt like an ARR S-Rank, dead in 45 seconds after start, they don't scale to the number of people who are attempting it. So, if the Devs are reading this, please always design your event to handle the maximum number of people in the zone without issue, because it will happen, guaranteed.

    Even after the world server lockout, there were still people unable to participate in the fate because of congestion. Given how quickly the content was eaten through, I don't see why they couldn't put at least a 24 hour gap between phases while the fate runs once every 20-30 minutes. Remove the reward from the fate and have a quest that it flags completion for that in turn will give the reward. After each phase, reset the the quest back to incomplete. This gives people on different schedules the opportunity to participate as well as giving people a chance that were on at the right time, but were blocked by an at capacity zone. I have liked the rebuilding in general, but this particular portion of it was just so poorly designed for a popular mmo.

    The fate could happen every 5 minutes and people would find a reason to miss it. It's not poorly designed, it's not over.

    Is this why YoshiP always looks dead tired during LL's?

    Don't feel bad about not getting to do the fate. I have turn in close now 3000 collectables and still have yet to see the fate. Every time it spawned is when I was a work. Still think it should been made like doman enclave where once got to max rank you got quest for showing the progress.

    I think that's what happened. My world (not Mateus this is an alt) hit max very fast and when I entered, I got a cutscene for progress and had a quest talking about said progress.

    In what way was it well designed? The zone can't even handle home world population participation, the timing of the fate can be absolutely horrid (ex: 4am fates) and even if you get to participate, the sheer number of people there at once can foul up people's ability to get full credit. To me, that is poorly designed and I hope they take into account the problems this has caused before releasing the next portion of the restoration.

    Think of the internet. Alright, even a site government owned, google owned, or any multi-billion dollar company created can and will crash if there are enough people using it.

    They can put failsafe after failsafe, instances, and make the fates once every 5 minutes. But this will absolutely never stop the "gotta go fast" playerbase who can and will demolish what they have set up.

    Shadowbringers launch was structured in a way to avoid those 1000+ person queues via world visit and pacing instances out as well as trusts. And yet hundreds of people racing to the finish line could miss out on the super boss FATES because the instance reached max capacity for the 300 or so people even without crossworlders doing it at the same time. This, like those FATES, are a tiny instance in a grand whole that people have chosen to zero in on. And without crossworld now, people who miss it due to work/babies/ect have nowhere to turn to.

    However, as I said before, it could happen every 5 minutes and people will still miss it.

    Nothing you describe is one-time only content.

    It's going to be awkward for those joining the game in a couple of months time, start the quest for Ishgard Restoration, only to find we've already done it.

    This is why it's poorly designed.

    I understand someone's going to miss out, that's inevitable with the server progress instead of personal progress, people's personal schedules, etc. They can still give people more opportunity though. They already built 10 hours of forced dead time into the event between phases and progress has gone fast enough that they could extend that and have the fate replaying within that dead time.
