Ishgard Restoration: High Difficult Recipe Rewards

I really, really do not want the rewards from the restoration rankings to be anything more then cosmetic because tying actual benefits to such just makes it even more likely for it to be swamped with the cheaters.

I'm already seeing tons of bots at the restoration-related nodes and more of them overall ever since 5.1 dropped (You'd think making DoH/L easier would've had the opposite effect...but evidently not).

Good point. Honestly, as long as these rewards are at least cosmetic, it’ll give hardcore or serious crafters a bragging right item. If PVPers with their Feast items and hardcore raiders with their ultimate and savages items can get bragging rights, I do not see why crafters should be an exception when completing dozens or even hundreds of difficult proc/RNG based recipes during Ishgard in 5.2+.

lol! If something like that was put in the game as a Top 10 Ishgard reward, casual crafters would turn into hardcore crafters over the course of a week, that’s for sure. :P

Useless post, you are also a prime example of who I’m talking about. Pretty odd coming from someone who is literally being inflammable. Also, nobody is threatening to “ban” anyone. I was implying that using alts is a bannable offense, as someone has been banned for doing so in the past. 34 posts and you choose to use it to say some garbage like that, really sad. Most outfits in this game are skimpy, so if that bothers you, play a different game. If you want to discuss crafting, I’m all for a discussion. If you want to start issues, you can kindly get put on the Ignore List, mkay? Mkay.

Yeah, but I mean anyone can do that. It’s not really a “bragging right” worthy item to be honest. My problem with the whole thing is this.... when I’m doing Ishgard restoration and I’m farming for points to be Top 5 on the leaderboards, I would hope my journey to Top 5 isn’t a cake walk. I would like other hardcore players butting heads with me to reach that Top 5. Doesn’t that sound cool?

I can’t really get that if the rewards are just titles, mounts, glam, and a few hairstyles here and there. The competition won’t be as intense. If it’s something like Lucis Tools back in 2.0 where you had to grind it to unlock it, my journey to Top 5 will be very challenging. It’ll be challenging for any hardcore player, really. Because everyone wants that new high stat exclusive tool or gear piece.

And that’s my point. I personally don’t have a problem with cosmetics, so I do agree with you guys there. But since Square Enix wants this to be something to give back to hardcore players, they are going to have to do what I suggested in this thread.

My only concern for rewards strictly for the top of the leaderboards is that most will likely go to crafting/gathering bots that automate this entire process. Legitimate crafters will likely be very few. But this is a concern with the leaderboard in general—even if there weren’t rewards attached, I’d expect to mostly see players that frequently bot crafting on there as opposed to legitimate crafters who craft manually all day because they enjoy it.

For normal crafters, yes, they will attempt it. For most hardcore crafters, they most likely will not do it unless it is what I’ve said. Just being honest here.

That’s fair. To be honest, I just want intense competition for Top 5. If it’s lewd glam or (Final Fantasy XV Cindy Glam)...something of the sort...oh boy, I’ll see a ton of players butting heads for a top tier position on the leaderboards. It’ll be so fun! I’m definitely going to at least get Top 10 when it’s released, especially if the recipes are as difficult as Yoshida claims them to be!

And yes, it does suck, like, a lot. But, we just have to hope Yoshida comes up with something. I would hate to see a bunch of useless bots grabbing reward spots and they aren’t even real humans.
