Disgusted with Ishgardian Restoration

I was in the Firmament and left for a few minutes. I went to port to my hubby's side and it wouldn't let me in. I ported to the Foundation and it wouldn't let me in. I had no idea that there was a cap on the area. I sat there reading in chat all of the people on our server unable to get into the fate inside while watching on my hubby's screen as the room was full of people from other servers. I'm currently disgusted with this system.

I just needed to vent for a minute.

I'm happy to see the issue being addressed. I think Yoshi P is amazing and FFXIV is a wonderful game that I've loved since it's 2.0 launch.

As someone who has been an omni-crafter and gatherer since Heavensward and has enjoyed crafting since A Realm Reborn, I wasn't as worried about myself with this system. While I'd like to enjoy the content in full, I wasn't concerned about my ability to craft and get what I needed for scrips. But when I saw so many people locked out of the content after putting in so much effort, I felt really bad for them.

If left unchecked it could turn a lot of people away from the DoH/DoL content and I would hate to see that happen. I'm sure the last thing the developers intended was to drive people away from the content when it seems they wish to make it more inclusive overall. Considering all of the recent changes to the crafting system which has homogenized it to an extent for those of us who loved the prior system, it has made it easier for the community overall to get into the DoH/DoL parts of the game. So hopefully we will see a fix for this once they've finished evaluating the situation.

They're unlikely to do anything, since each stage seems to be a 'one and done' affair.

I hope so. I remember when hunts were disrupted because of the world visit system and people were upset. But in that case, there are workarounds and discord servers to use, etc. And in the case of hunts, at least the A ranks, its just a spawn. But with the Restoration there are people who spent hours contributing to the cause and then they didn't even get in. I felt really bad for all of those people from our server I saw locked out while looking at his screen and seeing all of the people who essentially raided the instance from other servers and locking people out.

Something definitely needs to be done or people won't even bother contributing if they think they won't even get to do the event at the end of their efforts. Either that or people will start logging into the Firmament early and afking there to keep a spot and make the entire situation even worse.

Haveing trouble believing SE hadn't thought of this one of the hazards of cross-world access. SE needs to rethink this. I couldn't even partake in the FATE because of this. No sense in doing restoration if a main element is going to be closed off to me.

Well, there is going to be more than one FATE for this. After the first one is done, the next comes approx 8 hours later. But yes, I do understand the frustration.

They should have had instances for this it appears but I suspect the load is coming from WT with people hopping servers for the different fates.

I agree, it's beyond ridiculous at this point.. even more so when the people from other servers are poking fun at others for being locked out due to them. *sigh*
