1. Just pointing it out since your post implied being upset about it. Otherwise you wouldn’t have tried to spin it as if the disconnect wasn’t legitimate with quotations around “DC’r” and implying they were AFK instead.

2. You blackmailed the party (or attempted to) with “screenshots” that supposedly showed “abuse”. It’s not abusive for them to say to stick with the party, but you resorted to threats and a bad attitude anyways. Yes, taking a screenshot to use for the sake of threatening against dismissing you is a threat and bordering on blackmailing the party into not dismissing you under threat of you reporting them.

I wasn't rude, nor threatening. You too would have abused the system and been reported. The system isn't there for people to kick just because they don't like what the other person says. I wasn't "AFK", I wasn't "Harrassing" anyone, I wasn't "Disconnected". Can't remember what the fourth option was, but I wasn't that either. Regardless of what you think, there are rules to the kick system, and if you use those options to kick people because you don't like them or their opinion, IT'S STILL ABUSING THE SYSTEM, and there's no argument against that.

You threatened the party with a “screenshot” and attempted to blackmail them into not kicking you, which would border on harassment. I doubt kicking you was even crossing their minds until you made your snarky comment. After it was made, I can’t blame them from removing you—and that wouldn’t count as abuse if all 3 of them agreed they were better off without you. Vote Kick abuse is something more like conspiring to kick you before the last boss and bringing in their friend for easy roulette/dungeon experience with you doing little to provoke them. In this instance, you provoked them and they chose to remove you. Not abuse.

I’m sorry, but I’m having a hard time feeling sympathy for you based on what you wrote.

Haukke Manor, I'm tank. We load in and I start running forward to pull. Just as i'm beginning to pull 2 group, someone says that someone DC'd (they didn't), so I bring the pack back and 3 of us kill em. The "DC'r" returns (so he was afk) and we continue. I pull the 2 floating chicks and the group at the locked door, a pretty easy pull under most circumstances, we wipe. I start slow pulling and continue on past the first locked door and head down the hallway to the first boss, pulling 1 floating chick and 1 group, turn back to find that the other 3 weren't there... they were in the optional locked room, tanking and dpsing the mobs from that room without me. I asked them to stay with the tank to which I was met with a snarky "stay with the group". I responded with "last I checked, tank dictates the direction and pace.

Tanks "lead" the way, but not "dictates" direction and pace.

Every detail here was shared with the GM, and he himself stated that the system shouldn't have been used that way. Up until that point I hadn't been rude, or really said much at all. Just, "Please stay with the tank." If you want to dictate the pace of the dungeon, again, roll a tank. Wasting someone else's time because you want to get every chest in the run, and kill ever mob in the game doesn't mean you should derail it, then kick someone because you don't agree. Last I checked "Don't agree with that player" wasn't an option for kicking. The SS wasn't taken as blackmail. I had a feeling that if I told them to stick with the tank, that they would abuse the system, and I was right.

Like Hash Browns, I was with you until that tank comment. While tanks pull, the party dictates the pace. You had three people—a majority—wanting to explore the dungeon yet got mad they didn't want to adhere to your preference. They are well within their right to eject you. And no, it isn't an abuse of the kick system. GMs always default to "difference of playstyle." If they had kicked you at the last boss to sneak their friend in for an easy run, you may get a GM's attention. This? Unlikely anything comes of it.

They dismissed you because you tried to threaten them with a screenshot and (implied) reporting them if they kicked you. Did you share that chat log message with the GM or was it omitted from your report?

I would have dismissed you as well if you’d said something like that to me in a run. I don’t have time for that kind of nonsense; and, frankly, I have no interest to run with someone who feels like they have to act as you did. Being the tank doesn’t mean you’re allowed to blackmail a party into keeping you with them.

Majority rules in situations like this. The other three obviously wanted to “full clear” the dungeon while you wanted to “speedrun” it. They’re allowed to dismiss someone who disagrees with majority objective: difference in playstyle. Unless you can prove a definitive abuse in using the vote dismissal system (e.g., planning to dismiss you from the party with no reason), then they won’t be punished.

I understand them very well. I’d say you’re the one who doesn’t understand what an abuse of the vote dismissal system is, though. If a vote is justified, it’s not an abuse of the system. And I think they were justified in removing you given the attitude you had and the comments you made in your post.


That’s said, if you think the forums are a “carebear club”, it’s obvious you’re very new around here.

When he first realized that he was the minority in the situation and that the other 3 members of the group wanted to explore the optional paths of the dungeon, he should have dropped group if he didn't want to stick it out.

Heck no! Then you have a timer. If they kick you, you can queue immediately after (which he did) and get into another group. He even apparently finished another one faster than them.
