SMN Why don't we hear about egi glamours anymore?

I'm a new SMN and decided to give it a whirl after all this time...
Starting at level 80 from SCH lol.
All I know is I feel like the job has too much going on:

1. Your own skills.
2. Egi's.
3. Summons.

Pick one SE.
I'd pick the actual Summons for a limited time with your
own person invoking some skills. Egi's are just messy right now
and it seems like they're making Summoner and actual Summoner now
which is why I decided to give it a real go again.

If they do rework it, I hope Carby makes a comeback! I'll miss the lil' guy!
But yeah, I don't think they care about Egi's much anymore because they're
slowly working onto new stuff. They did say they wanted Ramuh Egi but it never seen the light of day.

For the record, you can already "glamour" your Egis into Ruby/Topaz/Emerald Carbuncles by completing a side-quest over Limsa Lominsa.

I know I have him there but I mean if they deleted Egi's + deleted the Carby skin, I would like him back still
as a summon or something. I wish Carby was with my SCH too. >_>

The first 2 points are fundamentally the same thing. You may think of EA1 and 2 as your own skills that just give you more movement options, since they're instant and proc ruin 4, while the Egi itself is just a perpetual dot that you can safely ignore for the most part (with some caveats, such as redirecting it during adds/multiple targets phases or resummoning it if you died and got ressed).

The two demi-summons also don't introduce much complexity: you simply want to use their "signature move" twice during the summoning period (enkindle baha/bird) while you alternate ruin 4 and ruin 3 (during summon bahamut) or ruin 3 and outburst (during phoenix).

It looks tricky at the start, as it's usually the case with smn, but once you understand the (very simple) logic behind it, it becomes a cakewalk.
