    I believe upon 6.0 that SMNs pet system will be a thing of the past and we will see more of a temp summon kind of role as mentioned like dissidia Yuna. Honestly it’s hard for them to split the resources of SMN cause of the temp and perm summon parts arnt agreeing. From a coding stand point The SMN class is a nightmare which I don’t understand the point of them giving SCH seraph.

    She is derpy as heck and when healing or mitigating that can be detrimental. At this point SE needs to have dedicated pet jobs split from summoning an entire new entity because it’s clashing too much. Yes you guys should get more egi glamour but the resources they have to put into this jacked up job just overshadows those of a cosmetic mean.

    No.... but now you have two races added to the game that can't even display all the armor and can't use all the hairstyles in the game, and it's very likely that IS the same team since it's a graphical issue.

    All I want is smn to do their dps with carbuncle, and then occasionally summon the avatars for buffs, dps big hits, debuffs, etc, and then back to Scrappuncle. That's all I want. Cause that's pretty much all they were used for in the past (and in most ff games).

    I agree they should at least say something but it's really not high priority on their list it seems, which I agree with as well.
    Tbh I dunno how much time it must take to code an egi but it can't be that long. They have rather low poly, nearly no texture and only 2 animation set (auto attack and special attack).
    Spell animation are taken from their respective boss... and their "move around" animation are very very simple.

    Like I can't believe it takes that much ressource to do it... Maybe they just want to release all of them at once?

    Yeah, the pet "system" in XIV a.k.a. SMN, have always been sort of convoluted, and tbh it subtracts from the classic summoner fantasies in the franchise.

    Since it's like that, I'd rather have them remove the egi a.k.a little pets and focus most of the SMN abilities into more variations of Demi-summons. Right now, the egis are but a fragment of a true pet concept.

    This would, for example, open ways for a Beastmaster job, which can bring a whole new pet battle system as a limited job. (I know I'll probably be flamed for suggesting this)

    The egis are definitely going away. The extra layer of commanding the egi to perform an action and having to wait for them to do it has taken another step towards being removed with this latest change. And it's a good thing because the only functional purpose an egi's placement serves at this point is where Devotion is activated to reach the party.

    This doesn't mean that massive changes need to be made to the class though and it certainly doesn't mean that it can't be aesthetically pleasing or variable with what summons the player has access to.

    If Egi-Assaults become one-off attack animations that perform the same relative action that they do now, then a mechanic as simple as Monk Fists could be used to select which Summon influences the animation and function of the action, if it's not already baked into the basic rotation somehow. Regardless of how that would work, I imagine an attack animation would be much easier to deal with than full AI of an additional actor.

    And I (conversely) would personally hope they won't remove them. Like, at all.

    I feel like Egis do have a place here, and the changes they've made to them in Patch 5.1 (i.e. making them more "impactful") were a step in the right direction.
    They just need to keep adjusting them (like say, making Crimson Cyclone a gap-closer, similar to Automaton Queen's Roller Dash), is all.

    Just because you don't like them/feel like removing them, doesn't mean that others will agree.
