So, I gotta ask...it seems the vast majority of western fans don't like Zenos. He is boring and doesn't have any depth whatsoever. Do the Japanese fans like him? Is that why they keep shoving him down our throats?

Westerners (solely judging by tumblr AND twitter) are THIRSTY for Zenos... Look at all the Zenos/WoL/D fics on Ao3, thousands of em.

I honestly feel like the minority that wants nothing to do with Zenos...I don't want him to step on my face...I want to make him go BOOM or turn him into a pincushion with my arrows.

As for the topic, I got a little bit of FFXI rise of the Zilart + chains of Promethea feelings, where we might have to fight Zodiark himself...though as others say here likely a fusion of the overpowered spoiled brat Zenos and Zodiark

Is it possible that Emet is actually plan ahead that he sired children so Zenos could be born, as reincarnation of Zodiark, like, ya know, Skynet style.

Then Zenos claiming Zodiark might be his birthright instead of his presumption of absorbing a primal. (In a twist this absorption make Zenos much, much saner)

Twitter and Tumblr aren't as crazy about Zenos as they used to be. ShB gave the fandom a taste of a well written villain and suddenly it felt like Zenos became very shallow to most. His story is not over yet so who knows what awaits him and us. Maybe Zenos will surprise us!

I guess they know by now (if they weren't sure before launch) how high they set the bar with 5.0. Story wise, environments wise, music wise, characters wise. It will take some magic to equal it or surpass it, but I want to believe they can do it

For any thinking Zenos is going away, or is going to be conveniently stomped on by Zodiark, that's all wishful thinking. He's clearly being built up to be the WoL's "dark reflection". Another character who can seemingly do the impossible, again and again, and is utterly unstoppable. It seems impossible that he could control Zodiark - and that's exactly why I think he'll succeed, completely. It also seems impossible that we could possibly defeat Zodiark with Zenos at the helm - but we'll succeed, completely.

But until that happens, learn to live with him. He's here to stay, until his story arc is completed. And when he is defeated for the final time, it will be by our hands, not by him biting off more than he can chew. Aside from the WoL, there is NOTHING he cannot chew.

Well, Zenos is so far my favorite villain, I don't understand how anyone might prefer Emet with that bullshit where we have no choice but to keep him away from us ... That was something stuck in my throat.

he is unqiune in his desire for battle this it true emet was more unknown and throw out left field with out are knowledge the question is how more ascain like emet is waiting out there. I think the WoL come in contact with the WoD/WoL it be trouble for WoL/WoD because we know he no more he now part of WoL or part of her or him that lost now made whole. In many regarde the warrior of darkness who is warrior of light for source is both the WoL and the WoD. the ascian isn't make wise moves here we must throw off his game ebeltis must be depress to stop us there still other who know the WoL of the first is gone too.

Zenos is like a mortal man be puppet string along by Zodark I suppect he free him in attempt to killed him.

another fact I kind amazing is how blind estinen was to revenge that he was unware of WoL's gift. I often wonder what would happen if he suddenly gain such gift now that his quest for venge has been feed.

That's also one way of getting rid of Zodiark and maybe even Hydaelyn if she decides to give whatever remains of her powers to the WoL.
