Influx of stubborn players in the Duty Roulettes

Has anyone else noticed an influx of bad players? And i dont mean bad in the sense of just new or not playing how i want, i mean legitimately bad. Players who wont listen to advice and are standoffish for no reason. By that i mean, for example, tanks who wont draw aggro and leave the aggro on dps and healers, and even when asking them to aoe more and draw it they pull the "Do you want big pulls or not?" Or "You try tanking!" When healing numerous times i've had to have friends from my fc draw aggro off of me when they're playing dps because the tank simply ignores it.

Around ShB launch and SB i never had this problem, it only started happening once and a little before 5.1 launched, but i feel its been getting more and more frequent. This problem has been worst with tanks i've found, as when i tank dungeons go pretty smooth, but as soon as i switch to healer or dps things go haywire. I dont even really get where this problem is coming from; ShB made tanking super easy, and players used to always welcome advice.

So i ask, has anyone else had problems with stubborn players in the duty finder lately? Is this just an Aether data center problem, is it widespread, or have people always acted this self absorbed while playing and i just never noticed? Im not one of those overreacters thats going to 'cancel my sub' over this, i just find it baffling that people act this way in an mmo where it's all about teamwork. This also isn't a call out or anything, im genuinely curious wtf is going since this attitude is something i've never really seen in the community.

I run dungeons all day every day and I rarely see this, but what I do see is players who play well enough but have nasty little attitudes - that I see. I don't get into with these kinds of people because all they gonna do is run to SE like cowards and get my account temp banned or worse. I've had friends contemplating on leaving the game over this - these are NEW players who bought into the Shadowbringers hype, and I've had to APOLOGIZE TO THEM for the rotten attitudes they've encountered in the game. You can't begin to fathom how that made me feel.

Unbelievable. I am right now on the forums because I have a 30-minute penalty for leaving. For exactly the reason of this thread. I haven't had that since I came back, but you are right. I played two Roulettes. Two days ago, I was in an absolutely atrocious Titan (NORMAL!) group that wiped and wiped and wiped. I stood there alone again and again, waited to be slaughtered.. And Titan normal is like a demo only as you know.

Right now, I was in Stone Vigil and my team mates die 3 times within the first two pulls. Nothing being said, no hello, no emote. The tank pulls stuff he survives for like 4 seconds and I am the one that has to wait now. This is insane. They have no logical thinking, no reasoning, no learning effect. 6 out of 6 randoms were absolutely terrifyingly bad, and you can believe me, I was in a good mood as I had "The Bad Touch" running on maximum volume, but even that did not help.

I am with you, Mrs. Nesquik, I am so with you...

This is why level jump potions should not exist. Also why we need a better alternative for helping people learn to play the game that is not "Hall of the novice". Many don't know it exist. And harder content like Shinryu at the end of SB. The mass amount of complaints on these very forums "Shinryu is too hard" just baffled me. Story content that actually required some coordination and it's too difficult. Content designed with the purpose of forcing you to learn to play the game the way it was intended, tactfully.

While I've encountered more good than bad, I've definitely run into some of the very bad.

Tanks who don't know what a defensive is, or who pull, wipe the group, blame the healer (me), then do the same pull and expect different results (that one got kicked after he did it three times in Dohn Meg before the first boss, even after I asked him to pull smaller - the next tank was much better). DPS who take tank mechanics to the face or who don't seem to understand that orange = bad.

I'll admit I don't always play the best either, but I at least make some effort to perform my role adequately and do mechanics.

Shinryu was hard, SE even stated they wanted SB to have a tougher ending than Heavensward because even at release that was a cakewalk and became even more laughably so after there first major update after Heavensward launch.

That doesn't mean Shinryu was beyond beatable mind you but it was far harder to clear upon launch than even Hades that ShB brought us.

I will admit I actually don't get Shinryu in trials much, haven't really dealt with him since the beginning of SB so I have no clue how his fight is now (I mean sure you can't cheese the mechanics but it's safe to say that fight is more than likely easier now than it was upon SB launch).

I try to reason with people at first but if they refuse to listen I'll take measures. If they are deliberately being stubborn e.g. Healer not throwing up DoTs at least on a boss and just standing there with full MP until damage arrives, I'll explain that a healer isn't only meant to heal. If they ignore this advice I'll vote kick them, I would rather wait for a new healer than run with someone who isn't taking the run seriously. If someone has a valid reason for being stubborn with things e.g. Mental / Physical disability as long as they mention it I will take that into consideration and expect a slow run but won't hold it against them as its something outside of their control.

If a tank isn't performing pulls correctly e.g. Refuses to enable tank stance even though it literally costs them no effort to enable it I will also eat the 30 minute timer or vote kick them assuming the run has been going on long enough. There is no reason to cater for people who don't care to take things seriously. They aren't only wasting your time they are wasting the time of the other 2+ people in your group. There needs to be a certain level of communication between players in a group so that the group is aware of anything that could potentially change the run to be something out of the norm.

Jump potions have little to do with bad players. If they did, we wouldn't have see the equally bad slew of players prior to their implementation. People who care about improving; want to learn and grow, will do so themselves. People who couldn't care less aren't going to suddenly change because they're forced to go through several expansions worth of content. All jump potions accomplish is allowing people who aren't interested in the story or are leveling alts to do at a quicker pace.
