Although I can understand that she is frustrated and sad that she didn't get a large plot, I agree with others here: Getting that large plot and realizing that the 100 items more just can't make up for almost twice the space wouldn't make her happy either.

I owned a large one for quite some time but in the end - if you want a detailed build - you basically block off at least one floor if not both. Especially for "single person household" that doesn't need big space for events (like FCs for example).

She should just keep looking for plots to open. They do open from time to time and I saw several. Or you guys just move over to Spriggan. We still got empty wards with larges in Goblets, Lavender Beds and I think even Mists. There are yours to take

One thing I always would recommend is to not have anything in the housing storage. Just store the stuff on your retainers and sell everything that you are not using and is easy purchased from NPC (partitions, etc.). In case of a "sudden" relocation you won't be limited then.

As I've said she only wanted a large to have more item allowance. She would be happy in her medium if she had more item allowance but she is caped both indoor and outdoor. Two, even if a plot opened up, with everyone else waiting too by the time she stored her items and got back to that plot it would most likely be taken by someone else and then she would have to reset her house all over again and that is just too much to deal with. Three, Moving to a new server would be completely unreasonable since we would both have to abandoned our respective homes pay to move to another server, and even if it was a free move to a low pop server leaving all of our friends and our FC's and static groups behind to start over? Again, unreasonable. None of these options are workable. The fact remains if the Item storage was equal to the item cap to each house then a seamless relocation would be possible without the complication of having to store items before relocating.

I told her about not keeping her chocobo in the stable, but thought she was aware of the item limits or I would have told her about that as well. Really wish I remembered the night before.
But as I told her, as frustrating as it is, don't give up hope. I got my first large randomly, just by checking through all the wards a few times each day and stumbled on it mid patch after someone's was auto-demolished. I've actually been looking myself hoping to find something for her. I'll keep her posted if I find something! She still has all the gil after all.And as others have mentioned, Mansions do have issues with limited items. Phenomenal cosmic living space, itty bitty item slots.
Yeah that's my baby. And she doesn't blame you in the least. As for plots opening it would be great but there's always the realistic outcome that by the time she went home packed her stuff got back the plot would be gone and then she would have to spend hours resetting her house. Truth be told she loves her Medium house. What she hates is the Item cap. When she saw all the new Stuff from he pixie beast tribe quest and Mog station wall items she got excited to use them. But she wants to ADD to her aesthetic not take from it. She says her house isn't finished but there's no room to finish it the way she really wants and that's what frustrates her. I'm hoping that SE will raise the Item cap for the lawn and inside the houses for small and Mediums. Larges have more than enough. Thanks Again for being such a great friend to her. She loves you Guys.

I lucked into a medium myself quite a while back, and while sometimes the item limit is chafing... instead of wanting a large, I just redo my decorating.
I think your right. In fact she was worried herself about dealing with that much space. That's why she came up with the idea of making it look like a Moogle Themed BnB/Boutique and sweet shot. Using the main and top floor for the RP space and the bottom for her living space. But even then she kept saying she would rather have more Item allowance for her Medium than dealing with the headache of making sense of a large. Her initial disappointment was raw cause she hates failing. She DOES NOT do good with failure mostly cause of her background. Right now we just hoping with feed back we can make a dent in the request for more Item allowances for Small and Medium housing. I think Small housing should have 5 more on the lawn 50 indoors and Mediums 10 added for Lawn and 100 indoors. Maybe its a long shot but Never know if you don't ask.

I'm acutally not that unreasonable and aparently you didn't understand me right.

On a medium you can put up 300 items and add another 300 items in storage. If you move to a large all the items are put in the storage. Therefor the total amount of items cannot exceed 400 (storage limit on larges is 400). What I said is that she should empty out her storage and shouldn't store more than 100 items.

Same goes for the yard. She has to clean out the storage and can only put 10 items in the yard storage.

This is not "unreasonable". She doesn't have to grab items. She can relocate as soon as she run across a large plot and she doesn't have to redecorate all over again everytime.

And if you are going to tell me that she got too many housing items she can't part with: Get rid of all the items that are from vendors. Partitions, clutter from the housing NPCs, wall decorations from the housing NPC - yes, they are 2k gil if you repurchase them but is it really that expensive for the sake of item space?

That said I do support your request for more itemslots in every size. o/

You and a lot of others. My Wife and I took another look at everything, re-read the advice and looked up. What we thought we knew was wrong. It wasn't that the storage wasn't equal tot he cap, which it is, it was that my Wife had, mostly during the sale, bought so much stuff for her house on the Mog Station and stored it that there was just no room. Also the outside storage was also messed up cause I surprised her with a fire pit and sylph light posts, which she hated, and she stored them to use later cause she planned on getting a large eventually. Because of the extra stuff she bought and stored there wasn't enough room. Which was frustrating. Even if she had been aware of this her retainers, and she has 7, are always full cause shes an omni-crafter with retainers on constant rotation for materials which she stored for use. Its all been a very edifying experience but frustrating non the less. Storage maybe needs to be expanded since there is so many Holiday decorations available and being added every year.
She really doesn't like the idea of moving to Ishgaurd when it opens, she likes bright and cheery environments and Ishgard is most likely going to be cold, Gothic and bleak compared to say Shirogane, The Beds or Mist. She wont have the same advantage she had last time around as if any large plots open it will be at random and running around it will be race rather then a new ward opening and having a beeline. Shes hoping for an increase in item allowance for yard and indoors cause she just really wants t be able to buy more mogstaton stuff and finish her house the way she wants it. Anyhow, thanks everyone for the advice. Good Gaming to all.
