As for him attacking my wife, don't think he attacked her but his response was insensitive. Hes basically saying my wife was too stupid to look information that she has a reasonable assumption wasn't needed.

Nowhere did he imply that your wife was stupid. He simply said she should have done more research. And if she's in too much pain for it you could have done a quick google search and literally the first link would have shown you the storage room information you could have checked, and if you didn't understand it you could have asked about it in time.

She lives with enough disappointments. she earned that plot, she was cheated because of a technicality that shouldn't have existed in the first place had the system been set up with more common sense. You get what I'm saying? That's why I'm hoping they raise the item cap for the houses indoors and out. She likes her Medium, she just wanted more item placements.

Alot of people get screwed by the system. People get launcher issues and can't login when new housing opens up (myself included), that's not fair either and they should have deserved a chance at the plots. She doesn't deserve it more than anyone else that worked hard to make the gil to buy a house. The system sucks. I'm sure everyone would love for everyone to have the house and size they want but it's not gonna happen. Atleast your wife HAS a house. I was without a house for years despite trying very hard. Alot of other people are without a house and have been for years, especially on the large servers. They grinded money aswell and then get screwed by the system.

I'm sorry for your wife's physical pain and believe me I understand it completely. Don't feel however that you're the first and only one that made a mistake and paid for that mistake. Many of us have made this mistake in the past. Many have felt their heart drop when they learned what they did or didn't do. It happens. All I can suggest is maybe next time you go into something better armed, with full knowledge and tie up all the loose ends.

Can relocating be improved upon? Just like anything with flaws it has room for improvements. Will it be? At some point and in one way or another. When? In their own good time. Until then, research the in's and out's of what you wish to accomplish. Comfort and encourage your wife in the meantime. It would more helpful then coming here and spilling private information into your wife's agonies to plead a cause of change for a virtual world. It won't change what is in the here and now. It won't make things better, including your wife.

Pretty much posted to vent since I couldn't seem to make her feel better about the situation. I did let her know what I found out though and then she found out how i found out smacked me over the head and called me a sweet moron and we had a good laugh about it. Was gonna delete the thread but she said not to that SE should understand their players are just simple game junkies. Anyhow Thanks for your kind words of advice Its been a learning experience. Though She hasn't played much since the who thing putting a bad taste in her mouth. Otherwise she woulda bought those new housing items by now, if she had the space to place them since shes capped. LOL

Are you guys currently owning a medium house at least, if not mediums pop time to time but just try to check the housing districts regularly, maybe you can divide it, you can check goblet and lavender beds, and your wife can check mist and shiro. I don't have a large plot but the one i own now i did not even expect to acquire since it is located in a spot that i was eyeing the 1st time i reached shirogane.
Just always make sure that the number of furnishings set up in your current house (interior and exterior) has an equal amount of empty slots in your house storage. Good luck and always hope for the best its just a matter of time.

The only reason she even wants a large is to have more freedom to place more items she Loves her Medium but says her house isnt the way she wants it cause her item is capped out inside and on the lawn. People with large plots have more item placement than they know what to do with while the mediums and smalls get caped out yet they make more and more items in the game and mog station to put in the houses without offering more space. She doesn't want to sacrifice her aesthetics to place new items but rather add to it. she hasn't even begun to place all the trophies items in her house she wants to display just her Ixion Horn. And she bought a bunch of Halloween and Christmas items during the sale but she has no room to place them which is another reason she wanted the large. NOW she spent all that money for nothing. Taking things out to decorate would make the look of the inside incomplete and lopsided. The real issue isn't access to a large as much as it is More Item Allowance for the inside and outside of the Medium and small houses.

I mean, thats sad and all and we all wish good health to your wife but thats not an excuse for not doing researches on something as important for her as housing. Its an open information, you can read about it on official housing page of FF14 website or ingame, in your Housing menu in Storeroom status. It clearly says that you will not be able to complete relocation if the total number of items placed BOTH in your estate and stored in your storeroom exceeds 400 indoor and 40 outdoor furnishings. The reason why she was able to relocate from small to medium is because you physically cant break that limit in a small house as even if fully filled it will have 200 estate furnishings and 200 stored. So what truly makes no sense and sorta childish is blaming the system because you didnt made any researches about how that system works first hand. Especially when you making a relocation of such magnitude. You could make researches for your wife, knowing her condition and how important housing is for her. At least now you know that and I wish you best of luck for your next free large. Live and learn I guess.

It is live and learn but the fact remains that there was no indication that there was anything needed to be researched. when you have one experience going from a small to medium many will assume the same upgrading from medium to large. Most her FC didn't know about it either and I asked around my friends in the game they were confused too. If things aren't made clear its not common knowledge. And if things are that tricky why not post a reminder and or alert in the patch notes when adding new housing so that people are made aware of these details. Doesn't seem unreasonable since this game is getting new players all the time to have important relevant reminders in the patch notes.

Sorry to those I replied to for the slow reply I didn't even know you could max out on posts per day. Just something else I'm learning about this game. So took me awhile to respond. I'm pretty much done with this thread and we're really grateful for the helpful information and web links to clear up the confusion. I really hope SE sees this and considers simplifying things and adding stuff like patch note reminders, a raising the item cap for Medium and perhaps small housing as well. MMO's require constant work, Not just to keep interesting but to improve, tweak, and adjust the existing system and I'm not sure SE understood that when they decided to get into the MMO business. This isn't like Console games where you can put something out and be done with its a living breathing beast that needs constant work and, for myself, I've noticed alot lately when certain questions are raised about the game the go to answer seems to be "Its too much work" But that's MMO's. And if they weren't ready to commit to that herculean task i wonder why they even bothered to begin with. It's more then just housing, I rarely ever post but i do read the Forums and Reddit posts and Youtube discussions and the players have alot of good points and ideas about how to improve the system, a few that have been heard but most fall on def ears often with the reply of "its too much work". But what I do know is that If We as their subscribers do not say anything at all then there's absolutely no chance of anything improving. So regardless if it changes anything in the game or not Id rather Speak and not be heard than stay silent and wonder what if i had said something could it have made a difference. You only get an additional 100 items inside and 10 outside compared to a medium house. Which is a pretty small increase relative to the increase in size of a large house. Your wife would likely quickly bump into the same problem in reaching the item capacity.

Large houses are rare but not totally out of reach, I'm thinking your wife is an omni crafter with some crafting and trading, she could raise the funds to acquire the plot the expensive way, or you could wait for the reconstructed ishgard maybe there is opportunity there. So if you think about it for you guys its just a matter of time till you get a large house.

I am sorry your wife missed out on the plot she wanted, but I think had she gotten it, she would have ended up disappointed and frustrated. Larges sound great, but... the items allowed don't really give you the leeway to decorate well, you end up with echoingly empty feeling rooms. I lucked into a medium myself quite a while back, and while sometimes the item limit is chafing... instead of wanting a large, I just redo my decorating.

Mediums are definitely easier to decorate - I find myself missing my medium a lot because it was so easy to decorate. The larges just have too much dead space :/

Hi, Golden... I assume you're talking about Crystah. I'm a Commander in her FC and helped her craft a lot of the stuff she needed to raise the money, so I felt her pain when it all went down. I even told her about my old mansion plot in hope she could get there before anyone else. I told her about not keeping her chocobo in the stable, but thought she was aware of the item limits or I would have told her about that as well. Really wish I remembered the night before.

But as I told her, as frustrating as it is, don't give up hope. I got my first large randomly, just by checking through all the wards a few times each day and stumbled on it mid patch after someone's was auto-demolished. I've actually been looking myself hoping to find something for her. I'll keep her posted if I find something! She still has all the gil after all.

And as others have mentioned, Mansions do have issues with limited items. Phenomenal cosmic living space, itty bitty item slots.
