it is same with savage raiding, people need on things already have, and those people that don't have BiS yet, need to roll need vs people who Need it for Alts
as FOR NIER => Simple solution -> you roll Need on coffer, and when You get it, You would get achievement, and next time the coffer should be gray or invisible to roll on, and if some one would lost those, could be restored from NPC

You don't understand. Yes, you can dye the plate, but then if you change the plate, you lose the dyed piece. If I have copies of the 2b outfit in my dresser, I don't have to use up an entire plate, that I can't change, to have a different dyed piece!
Oh yeah for sure, Seriously though, I do actually have pieces (not 2b) pre-dyed black or white inside my dresser. There are really not enough plates.

Easy fix give us 100 plates for glamour then don't think run out of room any time soon. Hope they do change it so can buy another set. I find it funny that still shows me as a lalafell when haven't been one for 2 days

You don't have to put it in your glamour dress. I have rolled on coffers while wearing the dress itself. Fear not! I do it just for giggles and pass on any high rolls. It's my silly game of "how bad are my rolls gonna be?" and "Okay. I passed with this 96. Good karma for the minion, right?"
RNG is still mean ;-;
That isn't the same thing. Someone rolling Need on Savage drops may be using it for a second job. The gear is going to use in that case. With the 2B coffer, it will literally be discarded because they can't do anything with. They're simply taking a second set just to be a jerk.

SE should fix this.
The reason they actually have to allow people to continue to roll on the coffer is due to the awful and archaic inventory system this game has. There is no reasonable way for SE to prevent it without attaching the gear to an achievement or specific quest. So, they would have to instead remove the coffer from the raid and release it as a reward for a sidequest or have it collected as an achievement reward. Or for them to just bite the bullet and update their inventory system to allow us to have things like a glamour/armor collection and things like that.
Currently, inventory is split up across multiple servers. Your character's personal inventory (inventory and armoury chest) move with you between instances and servers, those are directly attached to your character's data and can be accessed at any time, basically. The reason you cannot access the Chocobo Saddelbag or do things like isearch your retainer inventory in an instance is because that information is located on the inventory server and the client can't communicate with the inventory server while using the instance server (for some reason).
The game also identifies all of these inventories as being entirely separated (since they are not located in the same place or share any of the same data). You can have a unique item in your normal inventory, another in your Chocobo Saddlebag, and then as many of that same unique as you have retainers to hold them.
That means that someone could actually win a coffer, put it in their saddlebag, win another coffer, put it in a retainer, win another coffer, put it another retainer, etc, until they've ran out of retainers. They can have that many UNOPENED coffers. The same would apply to the gear.
The reason that SE cannot disallow rolling on coffers is because if someone were to accidentally throw away or somehow lose the set of gear, then they'd have no way to get the gear back, because the game physically cannot check to see if the gear exists in your inventories since the instance and inventory servers do not interact fully. It can't just have someone win a coffer and then say, "that's all you get" and never allow them to roll again.
But, again, the solution to this is to tie the 2B outfit to an achievement. You equip the full set, it unlocks at the Calamity Salvager NPC, and flags your character as owning the gear already, just like how minions and mounts are added to your character and cannot be rolled on again either.

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

I thought the main point of this would be clear to people but yeah ... they're not gonna stop you from rerolling on something like this if there's any chance you could lose it.
Just think of the topics that would be made ...
"I accidentally desynced my 2B boots cause I thought they were the tank boots and the game wont even allow me to reroll on it?!? It took me 42 runs in the free time I squeeze in while raising my 21 kids to win a roll ... and now the contents so old everyone has it so no one rolls on it! Why can't I roll again just cause I won once?!?!"
Like I said before, people shouldn't be asking for there to be a no reroll rule to fix this so much as they should be asking for the glam to be an achievement gear. Like the PVP gear that just went away forever, I can rebuy the sets I got for cheap if I want and I can buy as many as I want.
If that's not how its gonna happen then some people are gonna keep rerolling on it for back ups.

Exactly. And someone has mentioned different dyes (which I would like). I'm already using all 15 glamour plates. If they tied it to an achievement, I would be SO happy. For now, while the content is still hot and a lot of people are still trying to get the attire, I am passing as I own the attire (and don't want to deny someone a chance while the content is still hot). But I will be looking to get 9 sets total (one for each of the metallic dyes, I love the metallic dyes OK?), but the other 8 (as I own one already), will come much later on down the road out of respect for other players. I did the same with the Thavnairian female attire (I can even show my glamour dresser as proof I obtained 9 sets of the stuff, sans the sandals as I don't dye those!). However, understanding that the attire is hot and highly requested I want to give others a fair chance. I do understand however that other people will not be so nice. But if they added an achievement for it that meant you couldn't roll on it in future (perhaps add the guy in Old Gridania for those that already have the attire - perhaps allow them to trade in the full attire for a coffer and thus earn the achievement maybe - and make an achievement for "Obtain a No.2 Type B Materiel Storage Crate" which triggers when you win a roll). Honestly, rather than fighting RNG for every set, I would MUCH prefer that option.
