You can't even activate a name change without already confirming that the information is correct numerous times. That's the grace period to ensure that everything is in order.

I'm on PS4. I can't do that.I mean if you weren't entirely sure, you could have just gone to Google, typed in the name, and copy/pasted it into the bar? I've done that plenty of times in the past, myself. SE can't cater to every single disability out there or they would never be able to make progress with their game. Sometimes it's just up to us to deal with our actions and find our own resolves for them.
This post is not about using a dyslexia card. It's about being more understanding of human error. You misread my whole point. This is something that would probably step on more toes than you think. There's a lot of people who make basic mistakes, and on the internet where anyone can be faceless, how many people do you think would use the dyslexia card to change their name? There's a lot of people who will/do use disabilities as a way to get an easier treatment on something, or even free.
Online, how are you gonna be able to confirm with a big busy corporation that you have dyslexia?
If they put a rule for something like that in, how many people do you think might try to say they have it just to get something free?
People need to be held accountable for whatever they do, even if it was a mistake. I have a friend who changed his name in game for RP reasons, but had to change it a second time because he forgot an apostrophe in his character's last name. Everyone has to be treated at the exact same level with no one getting special treatment.
I have multiple disabilities, that I won't delve into here, and I don't want to be treated like some special case, like you said, I didn't choose for my mind to be the way it is. But you're a person, so you'll get treated normally like everyone else does.
And if my disabilities were actually cards, I would have gotten rid of them by now. It's not a card I pull out of my pocket when I want to play it. It's permanent.
Then why did you feel the need to bring up your dyslexia begin with? You could have simply suggested a small window where someone could make an edit to something they may have typo'd and didn't see at first. This post is not about using a dyslexia card. It's about being more understanding of human error. You misread my whole point.

But instead you made the post about 'why are they mean to people with disabilities' to sum it up. You lost what you were trying to say by bringing it into the main focus.

I think this thread is...an experiment, isn't it?
Your whole posts are 100% perfectly written and very long and detailed. I had a friend with dyslexia in school, he was allowed to use a laptop for his school day (which was very unique in 2001!). Felix, despite having spellcheck programs, was still often typing very hard-to-read stuff. One example stuck in my mind: He wrote difficat instead of difficult. Also, due to that, he refused to write much, it was more bulletin type of notes and many dyslexic people also can not read much and for long because of that. You write entire paragraphs flawessly, your whole post history has not even a single typo, even names the spellchecker can not know are perfect:
But "Sven" was too much?
Also, the structure is strange, you start from Dyslexia and go to colorblind to broaden your audience and impact. Your name is displayed perfectly fine here, and you said you bought it today to fix it to "Sven" at 5:00 AM GMT according to the timestamp of your post. I post at 8 AM GMT. Doesn't it take often take hours up to days to change names, levels etc. from the Lodestone and thus forums?
For my fellow users here and moderation/GM: I am not making fun of people with dyslexia here. I had, as said, a friend going trough what you call middleschool to graduation, and I know how hard it is. He even got extra time for written tests, and he compensated his lack of writing skills with a great character and intelligence. If you are really having dyslexia and are also randomly for colorblind changes, I apologize honestly and I do not intend harm. I am just a very curious person and like to see the whole puzzle at once, it is even in my zodiac sign (Scorpio)^^ But right now, many puzzle pieces do not match. But if I have the chance to ask and broaden my horizon, I'd rather use it. If it causes unease for the OP I am deeply sorry!
But so far, it looks like you are trying to create a thread like a certain green-haired Elezen to see what happens and how far you get. If not, then you are a really strong and admirable person because writing such perfect and structured, long posts with perfect fantasy names is an immense task, including the PTSD and Fetal Alcohol syndrome you have according to your post history which makes it even harder then.
Sincerely,

Its not a one time thing you can buy the name change again, its a bussiness product, and if they actually let you fix your name there's chance of self-proclaimed dyslexia people appear in the future and argue... you got what you paid for already dont ask for more
Businesses aren't in business to show compassion and forgiveness; they exist to take as much of consumers money as they possibly can. Nothing more, nothing less. Unfortunately, that's just the reality of things.I name changed yesterday and misspelled Sven as Sevn because of my dyslexia. I contacted support, and they refused to do anything. I feel like the name change token service is unfair, and needs to have a measure for mistake fixing. I believe that once you decide a name, you should be able to fix it ONCE within a certain time period. I.e. 24 hours.
I was so humiliated and embarrassed I didn't even want to log in this morning until I bought a second name change. I'm not saying this should JUST be for disabilities, but I feel like Square Enix needs to be more lenient when it comes to them.
Where are the color blind features? Where is the forgiveness for simple honest mistakes? Why is this game not very accessible for people with disabilities? I'm baffled by how I was treated. I am in no way trying to say that Square Enix is a bad company. I still 100% adore this game, I'm just not happy at how my support ticket was handled. Even when I explained it to them. That didn't feel very supportive or even human. I wasted ten extra dollars for something that I couldn't help. It's not like I chose to have my brain or my eyes the way they are.
Looks like you got got
I have dyslexia as well.
No we don't need this.
