To begin, I fully agree with the OP and others. This change could have a disastrous effect on those who pug group content at end game. There's too many awful players as it is, and this will only make it worse. But don't fight this change, really don't. This was made for one reason: money. I don't think S-E has said it, but countless other MMO developers have said something to the effect of, "When most players hit a wall, they give up and play something else." I'd be willing to bet my house that S-E's internal metrics and analytics told them the exact same thing. So this is what we get. It will likely get worse too.
