I guess I'm trying to convey a f22 raptor is far superior to a blimp, all the airships in the game are literally not fighter jet style planes and fighter planes style jets would make things very trivial. The whole cool part about fighting garleans is we didnt have that technology, the reason we had to build a giant mountain golem is because airships were to slow. Now we have f22 Raptors. They should add in laser guns and nuclear bombs next, why not an Abrams.

Uhm… we had to build a giant mountain golem more because any airship would be nothing in army of sin eaters, while gigantic rock was simply our shield (not to mention that almost destroyed The First probably doesn't even have same kind of airships as Garleans do), but okay.

Even if we got it (i think the pod is more likely looking at footage and everyone would be riding down with one) , it would be bound by same laws other mounts are can't fly until aether currents done, can't use in cites etc etc

I don't think this will change anything. I mean, we have already flying mounts like the mystical Firebird, Twintania, Ahriman, Midgardsormr or some Magitec-shit and we can still not fly over a simple earth fissure in Thanalan. There was never any real logic behind the "if you collect enough magical farts, then even a Goobbue can fly" mechanic other then nowadays everything can or can't fly only based on said magical farts collection and not on wings or whatever.
