I don't know how on Earth you inspired me to do this, but now I want to play this game with a toaster. Maybe I'll take apart an old keyboard and solder some wires to the inside of a modern toaster with a bunch of buttons on it.
This is mah pappy's build. do you think it will run the game?

Bet it'll run Doom, at least.
Landline phone lines are just using a simplified version of the old serial port technology. Rather than having a bunch of wires for timing and such, it's a just a wire for data in, and a wire for data out.
Chances are, you could just hook the phone wire to an old PCI card with a phone jack on it and do the rest through software. And yes, those PCI cards are still easy to get.
I’ve attempted to play on crappy wifi that was around 128k and all of the single player stuff ran normally. Four player dungeons are mostly okay too. Anything else you just get paralyzed since your actions can’t be sent fast enough to interact with others.
Make SCH great again! Seriously though, we just want our class to be fun and engaging again, not OP, is that too much to ask for?
Apart if OP is a joke or not, I'm interestied too on how much b/w is used by the game while playing. I think this evening will give it a try with the performance counters. I'd have to get a way to rule out third party traffic as dropbox and alike.
