That was a rough patch for the game and that's putting it mildly. I had myself set to /busy status when I was on just so I could make it stop. If it wasn't I would probably get 2-3 tells a minute minimum, usually more. That isn't an exaggeration either. It was truly that bad.

It was so bad that even new characters would received gil seller tells when you 1st start the game during the opening scene at that.

I remember this when i started i'm glad i found an fc earlier on (about 5 days in) because i could set myself to busy while still chatting though took 3 days to figure how to change chat channels (everybody starts somewhere :P)

afaik, it shouldn't be fake, the discord pm PF's for clears while maybe not all some are real money but that's all hearsay.

i will say OR at least it's claimed and people do fight against it because of said reasons.

(i also just want to say i have no proof on anything that's true only what i read in game from other players or here on the forums)

Not at all shocking. Same premise behind jump potions. Pay real money so you save time.

There is no reason to be lenient with players who fuel this.

Money. How many subscribers do they miss out on because of the RMT? How many subscribers would they gain if they spent additional money to attempt to get rid of the RMT? How many subscribers would they lose if they permabanned for buying gil?

Well it is part of the playerbases fault in why gilbots are rampant. If people stopped buying gil, we wouldn't have this issue, but people are dumb and/or lazy and they think it's perfectly ok they bought gil. I've actually seen someone act like this in an old discord group I was in back before I jumped datacenters, including a few group calls he was in and gloated about how he bought gil because he 'had some extra money lying around and got what he wanted'. It's sad you can't report people that openly admit it outside the game.
