The only thing SE could do to completely stop it is to make gil untradeable. Which obviously won't happen.

As long as there are players who want easy instant gil, there will always be gil sellers. They will always find new ways to advertise to players no matter what SE try to do about it. WoW still has issues with gold sellers and bots despite over a decade of coming up with ways to deal with them. It's a never ending battle.

It would be nice if reported gil sellers became auto-muted after you report them. It's a bit annoying to have to blacklist them afterwards. And it's also irritating that they take up slots in the blacklist. That's something SE could do to improve things a little for players.

One way might be to block a portion of the text in posts that have been reported, say 100 times. Ideally, with the aid of a human who can identify and set the system to simply disappear any text that contains the seller's URL for example, forcing them to disguise it, or even change their site's name. Eventually, with so many gill seller's key phrases blocked, they'd find it nearly impossible to get their message across.
