We need more beards especially for midlander hyur males as it is the race of my main since the start and haven't been changed since. I created and worked on alts for glamour and looks since hyur males get screwed on most stuff.

@Kahnom
My point is don't try to lecture or "advise" people on minor things such as this when you're not 100% sure of it yourself, it's unnecessary, and slightly comes across as egocentric. Especially when the guy/gal just proved their knowledge by constructing a whole message in Japanese.As people have already mentioned, desu after another person's name doesn't make much sense. I do speak Japanese and have been learning for years now (with a degree in translation as well, although I wouldn't call myself fluent), but I've never heard of such a use before.While I wouldn't have tried to claim it's equal to being fluent, I would also say that being a long-term fan of Japanese media (particularly if you're watching undubbed anime) would give you enough familiarity to reasonably query someone's use of a honorific that's you've never seen used before. I also thought it sounded strange - and would appreciate an explanation if it is correct usage.
Also, if you have that degree of understanding but can't actually speak/read the language, then you can't know whether the OP really did just "prove their knowledge by constructing a whole message in Japanese" or whether they just pasted their English message into Google Translate and took what came out the other end.
To be clear, I'm not saying the OP did that. Just that I would have no ability to recognise it if they did.
I agree that we shouldn't judge somebody if we can't speak the language ourselves, but having been a long-term fan of Japanese media indeed gives you at least some ground to be able to ask a simple question like Kahnom did. It's not like s/he did anything bad. Especially when desu and honorifics are very basic part of the language. I'm sure Kahnom didn't try to be mean or anything like that.
And yes, simply posting something in Japanese doesn't mean you can actually understand it. To prove my point, I posted the original English message into Google Translate and got the exact message OP posted here, although it's mostly correct anyway apart from a few errors.
That said, there's nothing wrong with trying to reach out to Yoshi-P and the team this way, and I do agree that more beard options are always welcome.
Are you sure they've said they're modelling it? My understanding (between comments and generally how the character creator works) was that they have to work out if they can program it in at all.
I don't think it's about the model, but whether it's possible to add the choice to the character creator. Nothing has ever been added to the 'additional features' menu that includes beards for characters that have them - and I suspect it's not possible without redesigning the system. It's not like a hairstyle they can add to an ever-growing list of options.Soooo there this pic on the 5.1 promo page under screenshots
Kinda hard to see here but I do see a stubble - tho I'm confused what haurchefant has to do with anything and if it's just 2 npcs at the end... ?_?

This is our future. Our story.
New Game + I guess. Was there a scene with Haurchefant at Sea of Cloud? I can't remember, it's been a long while.Soooo there this pic on the 5.1 promo page under screenshots

It was a promotional image for NG+ I think, hence the ShB WoL. And yes, Haurchefant and some knights help you and Honoroit out when you search for Emmanellain in the Vanu Vanu territory (A Series of Unfortunate Events MSQ).
That's the point - it's meant to be a picture of "your character who has reached Shadowbringers" (as represented by the generic WoL NPC) using NG+ to replay Heavensward.
And it's the same almost certainly custom-NPC-faced version of that character from the trailer/benchmark that set everyone asking why they can't also access that beard.
(Also I'm not sure, but I assume that's DRK relic armour he's wearing.)

Focus on the Beard, not in the Desu;
Thanks.
I have to agree with @Kahnom here. Even someone with a rudimentary knowledge of Japanese (and yes, even if such knowledge came from a long term interest in anime) would know that -desu is not used as an honorific. To claim that someone has to be fluent in a language to be able to correct basic mistakes is a bit much. You don't need to be able to understand a whole scientific journal article to know that they used "their" instead of "there", or that they meant "science" when they wrote "sience", and you could still tell them as such.@Kahnom

And as has been mentioned, if you put the English message into Google Translate you get the Japanese message, word for word, including the missing adjective in「非常に[insert adjective here]いひげしかありません」. So the likelihood is OP didn't prove any knowledge of Japanese at all. Don't get me wrong, Google Translate is an amazing tool, especially when you just want to get the gist of something, but it does tend to translate things word for word when that wouldn't really be appropriate. Case in point 「親愛なる」for "Dear", which would be weird to use with someone you weren't actually familiar with, and also translating "bring more beards" as 「持ってきて」, or literally bringing (as in "please bring a box/cake/[other physical item]"). The nuances are somewhat lost. Also cultural differences are ignored, for instance in English you might end an exchange by thanking someone in advance for what you are asking them to do, while in Japanese you would end by reiterating the "Please". If the OP was wanting to directly send the message to YoshiP I would be inclined to go with something like this:
吉田さんへ、
無理なお願いをしてすみませんが、ヒゲのスタイルにもっとオプションをお願いします。たくさんのNPCは素敵なヒゲがあるんですけどプレイヤー達はとても醜いヒゲしかありませんよ。NPCのヒゲも選択できればいいと思います。さらに、そんな顔の特徴を特定の顔に限らない方がいいでしょうね。
よろしくお願いします、
Domn
That being said, I only have N2 in Japanese, and have only lived in Japan for four years so far, so it's not like I'm fluent yet (and can't write business emails very well at all!) XD And at the end of the day, I'm sure it's not YoshiP himself (or any of the team who only speak Japanese) who would be looking at the English forums for ideas anyway! But just in case, more beards please. お願いします〜
