If you wanna harp praises to Blizzard and WoW, do so on their own forums where the people there actually give a remote damn about the game and its processes.
So you want SE employees to determine the value of every item in the game? What if something that's very easy to make is given a very high price that no one will pay? What if something that's very difficult to make is locked in at such a low price, you can't help but lose money?
This is a terrrrible idea.
The GE system is great, post stuff for 1 gil and sell it to the current highest bidder to instantly get profit instead of having to go to your retainer once every hour just to undercut. I swear, at least 10% of the time I spend in FFXIV is spent undercutting on MB.
It also makes flipping easier to profit of as you can easier see market trends and you can buy stuff 5-10% below the suggested price and sell it for 10-15% above if you don’t mind waiting for sales, especially for currently increasing items/items that have hit the bottom. Makes it feel more like a stockmarket than what we have now which I love.
I mean, I don't really care what system they use, I'll make plenty of gil regardless.
However, the simple fact always remains. If (example) there is a supply of 100 of an item over a week and only 50 buyers, the other 50 won't sell. Doesn't matter what system you have. Doesn't matter if you ban undercutters, delete their accounts and kick their puppy. The other 50 items (very likely including yours) can't sell. There's no buyer.
FF14's markets often have an abundance of supply and not that much demand. It's just how it is.
Why do people dislike undercutting so much?
Excuse my primitive ignorance but what in the name of Tom Ellis is OSRS?
If you say so.
