That's great... but can we have an INSTANCED Housing area

The addition of new plots is grand and all, But they will eventually run out. I'm still hoping SE will add true instanced player housing that everyone can enjoy. Perhaps something a bit different in addition to the current housing model. Like a small private island or something w/ a single housing plot on it!

Give it something unique (maybe even animal crossing style functionality). I miss the "FFXI mog house/Mog Island" idea. It was great and you could still invite folks to your house but it was instanced, cozy, and best of all EVERYONE could access one. Not just the lucky few (which will once again ultimately happen when these plots all run out).

Please SE, consider something instanced IN ADDITION to the current housing model. (Apartments/Inn Rooms don't cut it! It needs outdoor decorating/gardening/Chocobo Stables too!)

I mean.. They have to see by now that just adding more wards isn't the answer. I don't know if they plan to actually address the core problem, but just adding more wards all the time is a band-aid at best.

Instanced housing wouldn't keep people tired to their account subscription. With the current system it forces people to keep and active sub and login once in a while else you lose your house.

How many player give up to make gils to get a house?

They said we were not going to lose house... and we can lose house.

I've lost two mansions, I have the gils and no intention to play the trick again. And from what I understand, i'm not the only one who think that way. "When we are caught we are taught". SE should remember that.

And... I can't get ride on the fact more or less a vast majority of the players I know since the beta definitly left the game. Some of them owned a house. So... I kinda doubt the bond tie is that strong.

It's a way to keep the supply right where they want it. They've always been gunning for about 30% server population in housing plots. What needs changing is the placard spamming.

Also apartments basically are the same as FFXI’s Mog Homes(in their original state), if anything argue for an expansion of that instead or a feature that would be redundant. Mog homes were originally one one plain room that got expanded into something more over time, why not argue for that instead with apartments?
Also apartments have a chocobo stable outside of each building...

I would love this. I think it can benefit ward users too.. Like that chocobo thread I was trying to make a housing thread lol, but I think the grand tl;dr would be:

If we all have the ability to have pocket spaces, something that I think fits exceptionally well with our lore (quite a bit early on with our whole flying around in a crystal void end of time chrono trigger like area) but exceptionally well now with ShB.

    So it would mean that-

Ward users buy a house, get a ward garden (the yard they have now), a house of whatever size, and a pocket space upgraded to whatever size plot they bought.
Instanced users upgrade their room (starting like FFXI) and quickly enter a pocket world status, one that greatly opens up by the time of ShB with fitting lore.

Every feature wards users have access to so do instanced users, everything instanced users have access to so do ward users. The purpose of wards is to have a public address, and perhaps SE puts some events there occasionally. You may lose your ward place if you don't use it (like now) but you will not lose your instanced space.

If they upgraded into their own pocket worlds, and the limits on wards was removed I think we'd be well on our way to doing exactly what people who want instanced houses want (no limit as in there is a pocket world for every person who demands it, perhaps given some MSQ requirements met to prevent like 2 hour players clogging things up). It's fine if they start out as rooms but that can't be the end goal, at least if we're talking about instanced houses lol.

Particularly noting they also said island, so not just the mog room but the space (mog island) along with it.

Yes, exactly, thus I think if instead of these threads arguing for some new instanced housing system instead were arguing for an expansion/upgrade of the current apartment system that might actually get more leverage with the dev team because upgrading a current system is surely much less of an undertaking than a new housing system like people are asking for.

I mean obviously not everyone will be satisfied but eh it’s not possible to do that.

Honestly I think people would see those two ideas as the same thing. Not saying they are, but like if I presented:

    Do you either want-

    A. I expand apartments to the point they're their own space, you have an inside and outside like a cottage in the woods. You can use all the features of housing, all of them. You can also upgrade the plot sizes.

    B. I create a system that does exactly what I just said above.. it's just not apartments.

I think people would be like.. Uh... I just care about the features and sooner is better than later, I don't care what path you took behind the scenes to get there. lol. I think that's too much minutiae at that point, maybe something they'll care about, but for us it doesn't fit the general sense of "this is what I want, and that (currently) doesn't do it".

So like a vague timeline of features in game (not SE's timeline but like as a player):
    • Early MSQ, inn rooms.
    • Early MSQ (still in ARR), free room- you've established yourself enough to stay in a bare room to make your own. Gift some really basic furniture to get the player started.
    • Mid MSQ, unlocks new upgrades like second floor and balcony (and whatever other minor ideas come to mind)
    • Early HW, allows players to move into a small cottage (all their upgrades kept). Unlocking new minor purchases like garden plots
    • V
    • .
    • .
    • .
    • .
    • ^
    • ShB- during the gap allow and unlock more upgrades that mean larger plots of land and houses, also consider allowing larger than large houses and larger than large yards (since it's a pocket space this is feasible in terms of space)
    • ShB after completion - spoiler
Have one of the Ascian begin to teach you basic creation magic, perhaps having something unqiue happen like us seeing our mother crystal who welcomes us into a space with open arms. Meaning she's helped us out a bit, we're not mega gods at creation magic yet but with her help we've a child's play area to work with. May even have loads of fun with Emet trying to each us, whether it's actually him or just a fragment of him from his own left over magic or even our own PTSD SE could play with that a bit. But I don't really care too much how they explain the lore, that was mostly just for fun- basically now we have our own space to be god in.

The long story short, and skipping the spoiler section, we now have a space we can control the weather, sky box, ground, and can become MUCH MUCH larger if SE has the ability to do so like Wildstar or some other high creative housing.
