Uhh it's actually the other the way around. It's actually always a femroe player acting better than a miqo'te or au ra because there are only like 10 femroe. Some people call female roe ugly and make it a point to comment on every screenshot/fan art about how superior their lizards with the downs and broken hip bones are.
It's frustrating, given how much I love female roe. But then I remember these people have so little a life that they have to argue racial superiority over anime girls in an online game.
Just play potato and get headpats. Black list people who trash talk and punt your bf.
Never been a lala myself. I do tend to give them head pats though (bc cute). Used to get head pats a lot when I was an Au Ra (was shortest possible height).
Now as a Viera I just receive a lot of lewd tells. I also moved to Balmung though, so not sure how much of this is due to the race XD
...so...
I legit make it a point to Complement to every Fem Lalafell and Fem Roe I come across. I think people should play and enjoy what they are doing. And honestly people can be jerks, just the other day I was mocked because I was having an RP session with a fem Lalafell, nothing indecent mind you. but just was flirting and being gentlemanly. but some cat girl and Veria came to try to call me disgusting and that I am a Lalaphile. Made me pretty upset that day. but thanks to my own friend network they cheered me up. Hell when one of the link shells I was in heard about it they decided to toss a ERP party in the middle of Limsa just to annoy those jerks.
Side note: RP reasons my character swoons over Fem Roe's I posted in the mega marriage hook up thread to see If I can land one ^ ^
Our avatar is a representation of ourselves! Everyone should feel free and comfortable with who they are in general and even in game ofc. We can’t fly or have magic power on “Earth “ but we can in Eorzea. If you want to be a lalafell nobody can tell you anything so just be yourself. If they tell you anything just bite their heads off (:
See, even though this may sound demeaning to some, it's a roast for the most part. People making jokes at your expense. I think it's funny and it wouldn't stop me from creating a Lala character and dressing it up like a football, then making a macro that says "Punt Me for 5,000 Gil" so I can stand in Limsa and make some bank. Haha.
Seriously, though. I'm short asf IRL, and I learned a long time ago to laugh WITH people instead of getting angry. If I got unnerved every time someone commented on my height (or lack thereof in this case), I'd be a bitter, angry old woman by now.
Best short joke I've ever heard? (And I've heard all of them.)
You're so short that when you step over a speedbump, your a** drags the ground.

I've met some people who've said bad things about Lalafell as well in the past. Most of it is joking though. Some of it was just toxic and confusing, some people really get triggered by seeing them. I saw the same thing in WoW as well though. We had gnomes/Goblin haters. I do think small races get a hard time but it's mainly due to them not looking "attractive" due to lack of muscles... HOWEVER most of the time it is just people having fun and memeing the short races. In rare cases you get the "Omg you're a weirdo for playing a small child race" Makes me wonder how some people view adults who are short irl. Horrifying how height means child to some people. Given how lalafells are actually very very much adult-races if you pay attention to the MSQ.
BUT yeah. Just play what you like. I've learnt over the years of playing a Tarutaru in FF11 And gnome/goblin in WoW. That you always encounter some people who have some sort of bug up their butt about a race in any mmo! Height aside though there is hate for every single race out there. There is plenty of "stereotypes" for all races. Just be what you like and ignore the haters. No point letting them ruin your time. If you feel unhappy around people who do this to you, then you wave goodbye and tell them to sod off.
Personally I agree with the core of what you are saying, a person should play as any race as they want and no worry about what other say, but I do disagree with promoting the concept of our character representation of ourselves. Since I do not do not think many are capable of differentiating the two in terms of context. RP alone I have ran into far too many people that take a slight or jab at their character as a personal attack in terms of who they are as a person. The comment was aimed towards the character not the person, and I do feel people tend to assume when one makes an insulting remark about the actions of a character in-game they are in fact commenting on the person behind the character. Without knowing the intent behind the insult I do not think that is a fair assumption to make, yet it appears to happen often at the very least from my personal experience. Our avatar is a representation of ourselves! As an example as someone else mentioned how someone called their character a lalaphile, I have refereed to characters as such in RP, because all -phile means is a fondness for a specified thing. Sure in the context of RP my character is making an assumption based off the actions present, and being as the person they were flirting with was a friend of mine so I jumped in. Long story short moment I jumped in they got offended by my comment making claims like I was insulting them as a person, referring to them a pedophile etc. . . and I never said such a thing, and I sense they were projecting too much of themselves into their character so anything they feel as a an attack on their character is a personal attack. Just my two cents though.
Not to say that the person that made called the other person as a lalaphile did not mean it as a personal insult. and just as a insult towards their character or actions, but should one really jump to the conclusion that it is a personal insult.

Not really seen it from Femroe, but Max Slider: Speedo Roe Extraordinare sometimes has something dumb to say about all cats and lizards being copy/pastes of each other.

Exactly. People not differentiating between themselves and their characters have opened a lot of cans of worms lately. We had the male Viera incident where a very vocal minority called it an attack on their sexuality and homophobic bla bla. We had those considering FFlogs to be an invasion of their privacy because they consider the combat log to be personal. Or as we saw in this thread some trying to enforce real life ideologies in the game and requiring to ask for consent before using an emote. And as you mentioned, some would consider any form of insult a personal attack on them. And all are failing to realize that the one who truly owns their characters is SE. And they could very much do with the character and all the data it generates as they wish.Personally I agree with the core of what you are saying, a person should play as any race as they want and no worry about what other say, but I do disagree with promoting the concept of our character representation of ourselves.
