    You get the other job for free currently. If I was to do more branching jobs, I'd cap classes at 30.
    They'd just serve as a consistency thing and a basic intro to that archetype.

    It wasn't a big deal before ShB either. The Scholar/Summoner link didn't matter at all in SB, and wasn't really all that relevant in HW.

    Not really. It was every job, but job skills outnumber class skills on a lot of jobs at this point. Gone are the days of a job being 5 bonus skills on top of your basic 25 or whatever it was.

    I mean, don't get me wrong people. I'm not advocating upending the whole class/job thing, not now we're this far along.

    People rag on the whole concept of branching classes, but the concept is solid IMHO, FFXIV just implemented it in a weird way that left next to no room to maneuver.
