Probably not locked out. Just reset so that the job is grayed out and the quests are marked as not completed. I don't care either way, but it's funny how indignant people get over this.

Less indignant so much as confused, at least in my case. That said so long as it isn't a resource hog for development and you give up the ability to get rewards on the second time you pick up the job I don't see why not. It's silly and nonsensical to me but harmless.
Admittedly, I regret unlocking certain jobs and would like to unlearn them (I absolutely hate the concept of omnicrafters, fite me), but selling the main hand and throwing the DoW/M stone at my retainer is the only thing I can do about it.
This is one of the strangest non-issues I've seen people complaining about in awhile.

I have self diagnosed OCD and I cant even so like can square invest at least 100k in development time to cater to me and other self diagnosed OCD people? I feel personally attacked if you dont acknowledge me and my condition and cater to me, I might go on social media and cry about it and people will call square #OCDphobic and you dont want that do you?
And don't even try to tell me i have to live with something that's less than midly annoying because my parents and Twitter told me I am special and everyone who doesnt accept me is a bigot/phobic/racist.
