female viera arent really like to OG viera in xiv, theyre just fem hyur cosplayers with good outfits
You know, i see have seen alot of derision on the fact many races in FFXIV have only the most minuscule of non human features. I for one rather enjoy this aspect. Subtlety should not be condemned so quickly in my book, indeed it was this hallmark that made my enjoyment of the game all the richer.
While a pipe dream due to the obvious necessary changes/ fixes needed in regards to expanded character creation options, missing genders, face/hair locks, ect... I would have loved the addition of a half Hyur/ Elezen player character race. Basically a Hyur with nothing more than Elezen ears and animations. Allowing for Elezen players to keep their beloved characters as is, and others to to make characters they felt had only the most subtle of features changes that brought them in line to what many other series/ip use when depicting elves.
Alas, even though we have a precedent in game, and a wonderful one at that, i doubt with all the extra work the dev team has made for themselves, it would ever come to fruition.
To be clear: I am only advocating this hybrid race due to the fact it has basis established in game. This is not a request for Lala/ Roe, Mi'qote/ Aura, Viera/Hyur, ect, ect...

"Nemo me impune lacessit."
i think the difference between the males and females will be like the differences between rabbits and hares

It wouldn't be what I envisioned, but if they did, I would be happy for you and for those who hoped for it. At least we would have gotten a male Viera. Just a few inches less than anticipated. And that's enough for me to be happy.

Lore purists telling Square Enix they have to keep the original lore intact of content reimagined in later games don't get the point of the FF series. Reimagining stories, places, magic, races, and characters is part of the charm of Final Fantasy.
same, if we get that, Ill be super happy and probs still switch
I dont think its bad that races are so humanlike, I was simply stating it. Not like the height difference would matter
Most female viera are min height
Most male players are max height
Probably work out to males being taller anyway
I just hope that, in case they decide to give us male viera, they will not be once again a disproportionately big/tall body type. Either make them tall and elegant or make them slightly shorter than their female counterpart. Just don't make them bulky for the love of God, we need a new male body type that can wear long coats without looking ridiculous.
