I mean, I'll give them a point for it - how much time does it take you to skip a PF-group you're not intrested in and how much longer does it actually take you to find a group you want to join because the odd one in between isnt looking for a one-time-thing but the long term commitment of a static?
I dare say its not only less than Saber took to read through the thread, but sadly (at least for ones blood presure) also less than someone might feel upset or outraged about something thats really nothing more than a small nuisance.
That’s not the point. What do you call an article that has a misleading subject heading to get people’s attention? Click bait. What do you call email that has a misleading subject line? Spam. We don’t tolerate click bait article titles or spam email in fact we have utilities and options to filter the sources of those out that don’t get reset whenever you log out of your email. Why is it tolerated so much for PF then?I mean, I'll give them a point for it - how much time does it take you to skip a PF-group you're not intrested in and how much longer does it actually take you to find a group you want to join because the odd one in between isnt looking for a one-time-thing but the long term commitment of a static?

I go back to my original question in the thread title. what’s the point of having categories for PF as people here have demonstrated they don’t care if they are being used correctly? Do the PF categories you use have to become spammed up before it becomes an issue?
Yeah, we have those filters and I still get spam. You know what I do with that? I delete it, ignore it and move on - same with PFs that dont intrest me, except I cant delete them (and honestly wouldnt bother...), I just ignore them. That’s not the point. Your original point simply doesnt stand because they dont get spammed and people do care about using those categories the correct way. So yes, I guess for me to care about this "issue" it would have to become one first. Because right now it isnt - not unless you decide that you're bothered by those 4 static-recrutments that are filled as duty-roulettes. That you wont see when you apply certain filters for the content thats actually intresting to look at in PF (whos looking for a group for expert roulette? Lets not kid ourselves: PF is for Ex-primals and raids.)
I dont care about someone looking for a tank for their static using E2S if thats where the group is at because thats still a proper use of the PF: Someone looking for someone else to join their group. The majority of people are using the PF correctly by applying the categories in a proper way and thats what allows us all to easly fin groups that we want to join. There'll always be groups that you're not intrested in, for reasons I wont mention again.
We've had the PF for how long now? 4 years or so? Personally I didnt see an increase in PFs that you'd feel are being wrongfully listed, so yeah, your horror scenario seems pretty unlikely to me. Which is why I dont care. Because the PF is, infact, not filled with spam. So, pretty much like my mail-account: I get a few spam-mails per week, but its not bad now for me to change my mail-adress or even bother blocking certain mails that send spam.
I get fighting for "principles" but sometimes that only makes you look silly...
4 listings? There was about that many on Aether when all this started a few years ago, now during prime hours in the late afternoon and evening there are so many that they take up the entire first page of PF and beyond. When people noticed they could take advantage of it without repercussions they did and will continue to do so unless something changes.Yeah, we have those filters and I still get spam. You used to see a kind healer or tank offer their fast ques up to a DPS for that listing, now it’s simply used by self important people who think they are better than everyone else and deserve to get to the top of the PF with whatever static or RMT clear selling ads they have.
So without inconveniencing the vast majority of people who use it correctly, what is your solution?4 listings? I don't think the problem is necessarily the PF listings people post. The problem is that there isn't another in-game way for people to recruit for statics/FCs/RP etc without spamming chats elsewhere. The PF needs to be expanded to accommodate these things in my opinion.
