Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

If people are going to claim that Viera were intended for that sole purpose (which they did), it's hardly shocking to hear people (like myself) express much the same view of Hrothgar.

It's not really a fair assessment of how either race is used in general, but it certainly applies in both cases, and I find it odd that the bunny women get singled out for it or that it is claimed that Viera should not be added because it's just for ERP, when we see both races being used in that way, as if it is relevant.

I don't see why my post vanished but I presume it was to do with what was being quoted, so I will re-state it - neither race adds anything I deem particularly novel or interesting in their present implementation, but all the same I would have rather they added one at a time in a complete form and prioritised char customisation/texture upgrades over that.

What they instead did is a poorly executed rush job.

Anything can be used for everything. That's why most excuses are senseless...
Like Young adults, their excuse of "showing Young adults in pain or suffering is bad..." well... Ryne and le twins do fell on this scene.
Not that showing anyone in pain or suffering is cool. :/
But in the end the perversity of some, do bring chaos to all worlds.

I love the Viera and Hrothgars so far, and calling it unfinished or half baked is, imo, rude.
I like both and think that they got great rooms for improvements.
I don't like most head gears, so if they work the hairstyles (bought/event) for me it's a very welcome and fair service.

For those that have followed me long enough, or my friends, you might remember Tala’li. He was actually one of my first characters, made around the same time as Kazha’a. I did RP him for a bit, but eventually retired him due to poor experiences that left me with a bad taste.

When I retired him, over a year ago now I think, I made the statement I’d bring him back, if I could make him a viera, and I’ve had that hope ever since. Unfortunately, that’s not possible now. I was a little crushed, honestly. I was excited to bring him back. I missed him. I could keep him as a Miqo’te I guess, but it’s not the same. Even his color scheme when I originally made him was heavily viera-inspired. Like many others, this was a race I was hoping for, for a long, long time.

I’m not comfortable playing opposite model genders (even if Tala always was a bit effeminate), and I’m definitely uncomfortable with the use of mods. So I guess, he’s to remain retired, indefinitely, because the future of male viera looks, sadly, unlikely."

Warning: Very cheesy post, but I feel some people may feel better after reading this
I saw the utter hate thrown at everyone that wanted male Viera, and so much of it that I saw was tainted with very rude stereotypes of gender and LGBTQ. It made me want to quit too because I felt so unwelcome. I thought this community was better than that. I didn't see much of what was aimed at people who were happy to see the Hrothgar, but I can believe it happened given what was said to people who wanted male Viera. To be attacked for loving something and being happy with it is a most horrible feeling. Similarly, to love something and being upset at its absence is also a most horrible feeling. I wouldn't be surprised to hear if a lot of people who wanted male Viera and female Hrothgar felt like leaving the game. The toxicity we all witnessed could melt stone.

And I know how it can get. After seeing so much hate, we start doing the same out of hurt (or at least I did, which is something I am not proud of).

But here we still are, and isn't that a sign? That we are strong enough to be better than that toxicity? To be the counter to that hate? Or maybe we are all just very incredibly stubborn.

To those who say you are thinking about leaving the game. A person who cares deeply doesn't just quit. And from what I read, not a single person here comes across as uncaring. Most of you are very passionate about this game. Not even the ones making these "I will leave if it doesn't get fixed" posts. People tend to get upset when something they love disappoints them. You expect better and more because of how much you care. Am I right? So why trash it? Yes, it's incomplete in some places and imperfect in others, but it's not broken or trash. Far from it. If you honestly thought this game was garbage you wouldn't have cared so much. We've been told to wait and be patient. And we have. But don't forget the reason why we did. Because it isn't trash. It's a freaking amazing game with amazing developers who have countless more times surpassed our expectations than disappointed them. And it is precisely because of how amazing this team is that we cling to the hope that one day we will see these races finished. If they weren't we wouldn't have even bothered contributing to this thread. No one expects gold from a trash heap.

Let's continue to voice our desires, but let's keep being honest to ourselves as we do. We love this game. And it's because we do that we voice our hopes.

Moderators periodically go back and delete posts that get too heated which reduces the page count. Either way I think it turned out better for the post we have on top of the 1000th page to be the one we have now, even if I don't 100% agree with everything said.

It's true hairstyles for viera seem lacking right now, but I try to consider it as a sort of preview for what's to come lol
We'll get more hair in time, and I'm happy viera came out at all.
tbh I rather something come out rushed, but then worked on slowly over time, than being left with nothing and wondering if viera will ever be added. I don't like being kept in the dark, so I'm ok with this. As long as the devs do intend to work on adding more hairstyles and stuff.

In fact, I'd be happy if they "rushed" out male viera with not many hairstyle options at first, and then have more added over time. I know some of you will disagree and say it's better to have a completed product come out, but idk, it'd give me some peace of mind knowing the race is out and that they're working on it.

I really don't understand this scorched earth policy of the mods. Ridiculous. Last time I checked a lot of the deleted posts actually did pertain to male viera. There must have been a gigantic amount of reporting going on.

I don't know what happened while I was away but due to the fact that someone announced page 1000 like 2 or 3 pages ago, means at least 15 posts were deleted I'd guess. I even had at least one of mine deleted as well, and it was an on-topic joke.
