The state of healers is affecting everyone

I use my full tool kit when i heal. I'm not sure where you're coming from with this 1 button spam over and over again.

Relative to the Op I know some of my friends who would heal regularly have taken to dps given the mega pulls in some dungeons like expert. It's hard to do those when under geared and as such some prefer to wait until they have better gear to delve in.

It's because healer dps skills have basically been reduced to one dot and one button, you know it's good game design when the rotation leaves you super bored but you have to remind yourself to pay attention or people will die, kind of like a middle schooler in math class the day before a test.

Though I will concede that WHM was one dot one button before SBr I think, but I don't know about AST since I've never played it, scholar though, well, rip my former main class.

I dps when I am able but relative to my healing kit I use all my healing skills especially with wall to wall pulls. I don't play Scholar so can't comment there and when I leveled AST I didn't really see much difference other than the card stats and how they are used.

In savage I may use my entire kit, especially in E4S' case, in expert? It's spam Art of War, wait until excog pops, use art of war more, wait until tank gets kind of low, use one of my billion oGCD heals, and keep on spamming. It is not uncommon for me, as a SCH, to have top DPS on the team in expert, and it saddens me because I didn't work for that dps, I just spammed 1 button.

I don't buy the line that any significant number of healers quit. Healers are going to be in greater demand because the tank pool got a lot bigger and the DPS pool was always big.

Sometimes I still find myself waiting on tanks. Does that mean a bunch of tanks quit too? Nah.

White mage as is, is currently fine, especially with having beneaaaaaaaaaaaadiction as an option to deal with LD/Superbolide, it was hit the least hard with all the healing changes.

One of my friends who plays AST, immediately commented on how weak his heals are after entering his first shadowbringers dungeon, but the healing potencies have been increased a bit between then and now.

The issue with sch is that it was a really unique healer and played differently than WHM who was more pure healing focused and AST who offered utility like tp or mp restoration and damage/crit chance cards.

Now the other 2 healers are weaker whm clones with shields and a pet or cards, and that's honestly pretty boring and drives away people who don't enjoy pure healing and want more to do than to be a health babysitter.

Healers didnt quit.some of them tried gunbreaker and dancer because most healers play more than one role but most of them are back playing their healer mains now.
As tank the only queues that are bad are alliance roulette and they arent even as bad as they were in Stormblood.
The bigger difference with queue times is that at start of expansion a lot of dps were palying gunbreaker and dark which made dps queues faster.At this stage most of those people have remembered they dont like playing tank and gone back to dps.If anything it's likely the drop in amounts of tanks is making queues longer.
You're either queuing at low activity times or trying to do oudated content.

Nah. You're definitely over exaggerating. I've noticed Tanks being in need far more often than Healers.

For me it's been Healers. My server is lacking healers. At least for late arr.

I just saw a big forum post about it a week or so ago. A bunch were unhappy and switched roles.

As a former SCH main, yeah, pretty much. I'll do healer for my static, because I signed up while healing was still fun, but outside of that, I refuse to heal because I want more to do than spam 1 button over and over, and for my fairy to actually be both effective and responsive, as well as have 2 unique fairies, as is now fairy is just good for 3 more stacks of aetherflow.
