The state of healers is affecting everyone

I don't buy the line that any significant number of healers quit. Healers are going to be in greater demand because the tank pool got a lot bigger and the DPS pool was always big.

Sometimes I still find myself waiting on tanks. Does that mean a bunch of tanks quit too? Nah.

I just saw a big forum post about it a week or so ago. A bunch were unhappy and switched roles.

As a former SCH main, yeah, pretty much. I'll do healer for my static, because I signed up while healing was still fun, but outside of that, I refuse to heal because I want more to do than spam 1 button over and over, and for my fairy to actually be both effective and responsive, as well as have 2 unique fairies, as is now fairy is just good for 3 more stacks of aetherflow.

It's going to be bigger now, because
1. They got a new tank to play with.
2. Heals didn't get a new heal to play with.
3. Healers are all homogenized and are boring so they quit or switched.

AST changes are definitely a big one, but it certainly doesn't help that all healers have been reduced to "spam 1 button over and over and over again until everything is dead, except sometimes you stop to heal for a second" Not very engaging to be be playing a modern game with all of the buttons you need mapped could be done on a NES controller.

I agree with the AST one.
I didn't usually care about all the DPS removal SCH for example but now it's so dangum boring
during downtime to all I am doing is pressing 111111111111111 OH YAY 2! Thank God! I can press 2!......11111111111111........
At least with WHM, I am floating and look kinda cool pressing 1 lol.

during downtime to all I am doing is pressing 111111111111111 OH YAY 2! Thank God! I can press 2!......11111111111111........
At least with WHM, I am floating and look kinda cool pressing 1 lol.

B-but who needs something cool like bane that spreads your dot skills to all mobs and lets you damage as you heal when you can just slap the ground until your mp runs out?

They don't think we needed it apparently.
I like how AoW sounds and is, but I also miss Bane and Shadowflare now.
I feel silly not caring about the DPS removals but we have so much
danged downtime in this game, I want more things to do.
5.0 has been a living snoozefest and I've shelved my heals after getting
SCH/AST to 80. It's sad because I love to heal, but if you don't give me much to
heal...I'm crying myself to sleep spamming 1 button with occasional 2, and risk my life
going smack dab in the middle of mobs to spam 3 lol.
At least WHM gets a stun when they run out there.
Try AST, might as well get in bed and fall asleep, it's much worse...

Edit: Oh we got ED on SCH back so there's my 4 SOMETIMES.

The only way I'd be okay with bane coming back is if they undid the stormblood nerf to it. It's been a pretty useless skill in most situations ever since that nerf was implemented, and is a big reason I don't miss it at all.
