You have, as a Final Fantasy title, a distinguished and well know form of travel.
VAT UR KNOW, HAAH, MABE THE GOBU R IS TEH CHOCOOBOO BABI!!!

lol, but in all seriousness, I don't mind, from what we were told it's not like there will be hundreds of mounts, this is basically an exclusive gen-1 mount, there won't be one in 2.0, we get Chocobos as easy mode, Magitek is gained through some difficult challenge (according to a dev post) and there is Gobue that's a reward for people sticking through with 1.x, its not like we have sixty cashshop mounts and a dozen free mounts. three or four mounts are perfectly reasonable.

Actually, hate to burst bubbles here, but he specifically stated that they weren't actual mounts and were just tests to see what other creatures would look as a mount, and not a guaranteed mount.

Imagine 20 people riding Goobbues in that pic instead of just one

If you can't see how that diminishes the artistic integrity of the game, then I don't know what else could be said to convince you.

Supposing that it IS a player mount (and it sure looks like it) lets just hope that it is slower than a chocobo and is summoned by an item with a one-week cooldown timer on it.
And your HP degrades while you ride it, and you delevel for every hour that you're on it, and your mother beats your shit if she walks in your room and sees you riding it.

stop being a dick, man, let people have their fun, as was stated before, if you don't like it, don't use it, there you go, less people on a mount already.

What tells you it won't be a Gobbue that was raised/tamed and told us to take care of it?

You know there was a period where dogs were wolves and yet I don't hear anyone saying buying a dog is unrealistic because you didn't tame a wolf.
There are domestic dogs and there are wild wolves of all kind. Dogs have been domesticated much like cats, however there's still wild breeds out there. Goobbues aren't domesticated animals or have certain "friendly" breeds, they're monsters and nothing more and what better way than to tame a monsters than having a class that does that?

If we're using this dog analogy, there has to be lore that stated Goobbues are friendly monsters and the ones that's been killing us were just black sheep of the bunch. Why people are so against new classes is beyond me.

I'm reading over my post and I've yet to see where I stated this.

I'm not against new classes but I seriously doubt SE will add a new class just to justify a little present for people who stuck around when they started charging a subscription fee.
And by your logic there's nothing in the lore that states there aren't domestic Gobbue. If you don't like it just don't get a Gobbue.
Further you can tame a beast and give it to someone and it won't immediately regress to feral behavior. You know how like when they return gorillas to the wild (feral animals) and they still remember the sign language they were taught?
Face it, you're just complaining to complain.

You were saying we didn't train our Gobbues so we shouldn't have them and I'm saying you also didn't train your chocobo. How is one okay but the other isn't?

How is a Chocobo and Goobbue alike? That'll give you your answer, even though not once in her post did she say "no one should have them"..that was all you. xD

They're alike because SE added them both as mounts.
    There we go, problem solved.
    Time to lock the topic.

Not that you were grinding on Gobbues before but there is absolutely nothing in the lore to preclude SE from adding Chocobo enemies.
In fact there is a precedence for encountering wild Chocobos you have to tame in Final Fantasy. FFVII had this as a prominent feature and a major subquest.
