Will have to try Requiscat trick when I\'m back on TUE. I do try using Holy Spirit, but like Clemancy it has a 4 second cast time, which makes it useless to me since it does less damage (maybe 3-5k?) than Royal Authority (5-6k) and if you do the Royal Authority in combo, the whole 3 part combo takes less time to perform than Holy Spirit 1x, and does 2-3x as much damage combined (1-2k + 2-3k + 5-6k). If Requiscat allows you to do Holy Spirit with instant cast time like Black Mage\'s tripple cast, though, it may be better as you could do 15-25k in that time vs combo\'s 8-11k in 4-5 sec.

Please read the tooltips on your skills. Neither Holy Spirit, nor Clemency has a 4 second cast time. They both have a 1.5 second cast time, which is shorter than the global cooldown. Meaning you are able to fit 3 casts within the same span of time as what it takes to do a 3-step combo. You are struggling because you have little to no understanding of how your job works. No story duty in the game requires perfect execution of your rotation. The dps requirements are closer to 50-60% of optimal play, which is something everyone can do if they put a small amount of effort towards understanding the skills and mechanics of their job.

So IL380 weapon made a world of a difference. I guess it's a silent requirement for PAL.

The difference between a IL 300 weapon and a IL 380 weapon is with the IL 300 weapon I had to avoid AOEs, with the IL 380 weapon I could completely ignore AOEs because I took Sadu down so fast even getting hit by 5 AOEs didn't matter because I killed her before she did enough AOE damage to kill me.

And yes Requiscat + Holy Spirit after getting the IL 380 weapon was helpful. RS reduces HS cast time or so it seems because I don't have to wait on animation to recast w/ Requiscat active.

What's funny is my IL 291 Bard also was able to clear the first half. Not sure if the classes are supposed to be balanced to where a IL 291 bard does equal damage to a IL 362 / IL 380 weapon / Paladin? Either way there is no minimum IL requirement for this instanced solo duty and maybe there should be? Or maybe it's just Paladin doesn't do a lot of DPS.

Bard is a little bit of a special case. You can use your attacks from range and while moving, meanwhile the target is a psuedo-summoner so she doesnt really try to close the gap and complicate things. So long as you can keep up with your dodges and continue attacking you have a good shot at her(sorry, bad pun). Most of the people doing this fight when it was introduced had at least a 330 weapon(with the max pre-patch being 370ish), and it came in with the patch where the ilvl went up - meaning that if they struggled they could gear up more and try again later(like with your new 380 weapon). It sounds like you made it, so congrats!

Stop that if you dont know how to calibrate all classes... it's absolutly a shame that after all this year you make this AGAIN !

Why can't you beat him? Did you forget to heal Hien?

I've beaten it twice. Both times on AST (in stormblood, not ShB), and the second time at near minimum ilvl. You have all of 4 buttons as Y'shtola. Even if you do not play healer you should have ample time to determine what button does what. If you guys have issues with this quest I'll begin to wonder just how you managed to make it this far playing your actual characters.

Stop being in such a rush. If you're REALLY struggling with this quest then practice it and beat it.

At 20% He'll use Scale of the Father one last time, and this time add his own limit break Broken Ridge to grant them Vulnerability Down. You cannot defeat them, so follow Hien as he uses Crush Weapon to destroy one. Survive, and Magnai will follow up with The One Ruler, binding you both. At this point an Active Time Maneuver begins, rapidly tap the button to free yourself before one last focused Scale of the Father alongside his ultimate attack Dawn Judgement annihilates you. Succeed, and you'll break free of your chains and use Y'shtola's unnamed limit break to defeat the scales and Magnai in one fell swoop.
