That problem is also for the.....influencers. I know Mr. Happy keeps praising new Astro cause there are no bad cards, but he is a MNK main and loves dps.
Sorry to move the conversation away the card changes but I was playing Astrologian recently and realised that I kinda missed Disable.
I know the devs are strictly against those kinds of abilities, but it was fun to have some tools that were more than just ‘direct healing’ or ‘direct damage’. I liked the idea behind the spell Stella too; the heavy effect sucked, but it was a really cool idea to have a damage ability that was weaker than the others, but came with a debuff to the enemy to compensate.
And obviously - moving back to the cards - having them all give the exact same effect just makes the feeling of ‘having nothing fun or interesting to help the party with’ feel even worse
I was actually mad that they said the healer changes were good coming out the media tour once the tooltips were released, it was very clear they had no idea what good was unless it was their job. :/
Rant aside the more we can show them with hard numbers that the changes are not as liked as they think it is and all healers need to be looked at from a new perspective the better our odds on having changes come about, even if it is years off.

I remember him doing one of those state of the realm things where he continued that mindset even though the other two people he was discussing things with tried to explain to him that the class was in dire need of work. :/I was actually mad that they said the healer changes were good coming out the media tour once the tooltips were released, it was very clear they had no idea what good was unless it was their job. :/

Yep can get frustrating when talking to a brick wall but sometimes it is needed, it wasn't just happy that said the healers were good most info that came before tooltips were positive to the hlr changes which was very baffling especially when we as a community saw the tooltips and went what on earth are they doing?(I may have been less polite than that)

Have yet to level Ast, but I know exactly how you feel with Virus, Miasma Heavy and Shadowflare Slow (and many others) gone from Sch/Acn. Direct healing/damage have always been there, but it sounds like both jobs used to have a lot to break up the monotony and now it's all that remains.Sorry to move the conversation away the card changes but I was playing Astrologian recently and realised that I kinda missed Disable.

Yeah, they made AST a baby class. No more complexity, just colors and shapes.Have yet to level Ast, but I know exactly how you feel with Virus, Miasma Heavy and Shadowflare Slow (and many others) gone from Sch/Acn. You mean all 3 in HW, managing multiple dots on all 3 and WHM emnity tools, 15% healing buff tool, stoneskin for the tank or as an emergency dps shield, and if you had cleric stance as a cross class from WHM all 3 had stance dancing too for low healing phases for added DPS. Now it is just all 3 that have been gutted and not just WHM, although I don't miss stance dancing with the delay on it.Have yet to level Ast, but I know exactly how you feel with Virus, Miasma Heavy and Shadowflare Slow (and many others) gone from Sch/Acn. Back to AST, I'd love it if they kept 4 cards as is and made 2 of them a defense buff. Maybe both of each buff giving the same seal, but one turns to Lord and one turns to Lady for each seal to make them different and an astral/umbral split breaks the lore of the AST quests.
HealmeHarry, healer main streamer, mains WHM and AST, loves the new Astro.
Please stop pretending the new AST is objectively bad in some way, these are all just opinions.
They are not objectively bad because people prefer the old card system to the new system that is subjective,
they are objectively bad because
-They do not provide enough rDPS to offset ast's lower pDPS
-Became more controller unfriendly for openers and buff alignments every 6 mins
-Core issues that need to be dealt with like Nocturnal being inferior again to Diurnal especially when Neutral is used, Collective Unconsciousness being incredibly weak for its cd and requirements, and the dependency on group compositions that has gotten worse after ShB(worse case scenerio being you the hlr being the only ranged)
Also one nice thing about the old system i miss, i could churn out aoe cards while targeting the tank never losing heal uptime if needed(with mass pulling no cds tanks this was really nice)
Now despite the above ast is still playable in all content but it is inferior to both whm and sch and the biggest offender for this is the new card system (potency buffs can easily solve this)but when veteran asts(which is where the majority of complaints come from) look at comparing the old card system and the new card system and go who did they listen to to go with this? it starts to beg questions of was ths change worth it? sometimes change is good and sometimes change is bad, ast card changes based on ast's performance in savage going into week 4-5 is not as great as you or HealmeHarry think they are and giving a potency buff would be just be another band aid on the all ready festering healer wound, as it would most likely just replace whm again >_> because it's buffs become mandatory and we just repeat HW and SB all over again so there would never be a 4th playstyle added to the healer role. /rant
