Well that's great!... NOT
Precisely what I feared.
We had a system people did not like or know how to use for the most part, but it was working. And just when I finally get it... well the devs just destroy it.
Come on SE, you've had my support for a long time, I can even say I'm prolly one of those stupid fanboys everyone laughs at. But it's really hard to look at the bright side when you have to witness such blatant displays of... I don't know... poor judgement? Or is it just one of those "oh we didn't think about that" case? Now that would be ridiculous, but heh... what's sad is I'd probably not be suprised now...

Yes, and no. It is still in place in that if you eat something raw and you aren't the proper race/gender, you will find it disagreeable. I haven't seen the delicious/tasty though, so it may very well be. Most of the time, I just get well fed.
The food and alchemist recipes are slated for 1.21 with a finalization and removal of old recipes in 1.22 (Source).
The thing that I have been noticing as of late, although I haven't had a chance to test it with anything below 45 yet, is that the level tiers for each dish no longer matter. Ex: As a 50LNC, a Boiled Egg, Rabbit Pie, and Shepard's Pie all give the same ATK/HP bonus. So hopefully that will be fixed as well so there is a purpose to leveling Culinarian.
The mixing of dishes could work, but then they would have to respec what does what to give the combined bonus; right now, a sweet and a vegetable dish could be combined to give MP/Magic Potency with a smaller boost to Magic Accuracy (but not gathering since it's a "combo"), but none of the drinks help DoW/DoM. It would have to be two-course meals, a feast to fight the beasts! Interesting concept ^^

I would really like the food icon to display when hovered over to display the effect of food not just in general (This gives strength) but more refined (+5 strength). Also if its a % to display (+5% Strength(5)) so both the bonus and its true effect are seen.
Since the latest additions in 1.21, we’ve been seeing some comments asking for food effects to be displayed not only in the micro menu when hovering over the food item, but also by hovering over the icon at the top of the screen after you consume the item. Unfortunately we couldn’t get this in for 1.21, but we are planning to add this in 1.22.![]()

While I mentioned the above a couple weeks ago, as the development team was working on this they discovered that it would be quite difficult to implement with the current system and will be proactively looking into this for version 2.0 implementation. Apologies to those who were looking forward to this and we appreciate your understanding.Since the latest additions in 1.21, we’ve been seeing some comments asking for food effects to be displayed not only in the micro menu when hovering over the food item, but also by hovering over the icon at the top of the screen after you consume the item. j/k thats fine. Doesn't take much mental faculty to remember what a food you just used does.

So as always your poor excuse for a system is to blame. Please answer this to us if the ppl that designed this system were so incompetent why do they still have jobs with your companyWhile I mentioned the above a couple weeks ago, as the development team was working on this they discovered that it would be quite difficult to implement with the current system and will be proactively looking into this for version 2.0 implementation.
