Gear is overrated, the bikini/reindeer Ifrit Fight

I get the feeling that we, the players, soemtimes forget why we play the MMOs...

MMOs are still fun, sure is all fine and dandy to be competitive and try to be the best at what we do...but we play to have fun! games were made to laugh and enjoy the time you spend with your friends!

Actually materia and gear make a huge difference. The deal here is once you do a fight so many hundred times you begin to have every facet of that fight down pat. You then begin to have SUCH an advantage by knowing exactly where to stand and so on and so forth that you can litterly do it in your PJ's.

A less experienced group could never pull a Reindeer or bikini victory.

There's no use in complaining on how easy the fight is when you've beat it 100 times.

All that aside, a Reindeer/Bikini victory is still an impressive feet.

You are right, fun is the most important thing when you play something... its the right effect of the cause.

That said, I feel really disappointed, I wanted a FF game, with the core-ff-spirit, probably ffxiv is not for me...

You do understand that Ifrit has like two moves whose damage is actually reduced by gear defense, that these are his weakest moves and that not all defense comes from gear, right? You have noticed in the video his melee attack was indeed considerably stronger, riiiight?

Do all the stats suddenly drop to 0 when naked? I agree that it should be difficult to tank/heal/inflict damage on NMs/HNMs if you're naked or with event related equipment, but getting destroyed... You know...
